It breaks my heart to write a review giving 2 stars. I know this restaurant very well since it's opened the first time. My sister recommended me to this restaurant because we are Muslims and her job is nearby. So we went there and I was surprised how good they were. Their prices was reasonable and cheap (95kč shawarma and 140kč shawarma talir). So we ordered 2 shawarma talirs and it got me good. The taste were so good and reminded me of my country home. So I ordered there regularly.
BUT the more they became famous, the more they became worse. They added new salads on their counter, which I understand, for their customers satisfaction (originally shawarma should never have salads, only pickles. But if salads only tomatoes, cucumber and herbs). They changed their french fries shape (from circle to stick) which I understand because it's much cheaper to buy sticky fries. They became more expensive (shawarma 95kč to 110kč to now 140kč), which I understand because they need more money to produce more since they have so many customers. But I felt a little disappointed because slowly they turned into Kebab restaurant. Despite these, I still ordered a shawarma and the taste was still the same as before, which to my relief.
And yesterday, I went there to order it again. And I was so shocked how bad shawarma is it now. It's much thinner (than my small hand) and less chicken. When I ate it, all I ever tasted is pita and sauce, not much chicken. It breaks my heart and I couldn't believe I spend 140kč to get this. I was so angry and it didn't remind me of my home anymore. I am very disappointed in them and as you can see the newest reviews, right now they got many 1 or 2 stars. So I don't recommend this restaurant anymore unless they change to be better and...
Read moreI had an amazing experience at Original Shawarma in Prague! The quality of the food was outstanding—fresh, juicy, and full of authentic flavors. You can really taste the richness of tahini in the ingredients, which adds a perfect touch to the overall flavor.
I ordered number 26, which was an excellent choice and a great portion for one person. It included a shawarma sandwich, fries, salad, and sauces, making for a satisfying and well-balanced meal. The meat was incredibly fresh and flavorful, just as a proper shawarma should be.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly. I even had a nice chat with one of them after complimenting the food, and he shared that the chef is Syrian, which explains why the shawarma tasted so authentic. You can tell that they’ve brought the real taste of Syrian shawarma to Prague, which makes this place a must-visit.
Price-wise, it was very reasonable. My meal was 230 CZK (less than £10 UK), which is great for the quality and portion size.
I highly recommend visiting Original Shawarma if you’re in Prague and craving delicious, authentic shawarma. You won’t be...
Read moreDuring our family holidays to Prague, we ordered around 1400 CZ food include box, shwarma etc etc from this shop as take away. To avoid food become soggy we asked to not to add sauces in some of the meals. After the food is ready I asked them to give some garlic mayo pots. They lady on the till advised that we have to pay extra, tried to convince that there are some meals in our order we have no sauces so at least give us for them only. At this very instant the other guy come forward and very rudely said NO and said no sauces. For the sake of customer service there is a way of saying no and for big orders at least you can give some sauces. There is no note or mention in their menu that sauces will be extra. I suggest to avoid them, there are plenty of better option with better quality and customer service around there. The quality of food was also ok and for the price they are charging...
