Worst feeling ever because they don’t provide service. They made me feel isolated here. I went on a solo trip to Prague and saw this cafe on TikTok as a recommendation so decided to go here when I saw it wasn’t far from where I was staying.
Upon arrival I was greeted and the person at the roll answered my questions. I was sitting down for 20-25 minutes nobody came to me until a worker brought her iPad and I thought she brought it to take the order. Then she said “oh sorry” and left and I thought she’d be back maybe there was a problem with the device or something. When she didn’t come back I took it as it is an establishment where you have to go to the till to order. So I did that. As soon as I went back to my seat I saw two separate families/ groups of ppl. One being group sat on my left the other on my right.
The same lady went to the family on my left and took their order to my surprise. As I was sat in between she just said “are u ok” knowing I had been waiting for ages and had ended up going to the till to order. She did this for obvious reasons. It would have looked weird if she went to the family or my left and skipped me and went to the people on my right. So she asked for show/ to not make the service look bad. She then went to the family on the right to take their order.
Not long after the family on the left had their meal before me and the group on the right shortly got their food after. My drink was also brought but my food wasn’t brought. I had been waiting for at least 25 minutes before they came and they had waited 2 mins max and were served and given their food before me. I had looked at their food and it was more than what I ordered and not something that would warrant my food taking longer as all I ordered was pancakes. I had finished my drink before my food came. In total I had waited for an hour to only be served drink. Usually in restaurants especially when it isn’t packed the waiter will acknowledge and inform or update the customer about their order. The waiter was aware I was waiting for a long time as she initially came up to me and left and served people that came in 25 minutes after me and had also brought them their food so she knew I was waiting to either be served as she may not have known I got up to serve myself or she would’ve known I was waiting for my food. She could’ve updated me as courtesy although there is not justification to completely ignore me as a sole customer in the restaurant that isn’t packed. I was also the only black person there so stuck out so it could not be missed.
I honestly don’t know why I was treated in this manner if you ask me as I hardly even had exchanged words with the waiter apart from “yeah”.
I looked at the customers around me as they also looked at me as they knew I had not been served yet was there prior to them. The ONLY difference between me and them is my skin colour. I can only see it as racism although I do not want to but there was no difference between me and the customers AT ALL apart from my skin colour.
This was the first place I visited in the city upon landing so this made me anxious to go to other places but I can confirm it is just this establishment that you will be alienated for your skin colour. Racism is something I would not understand it is a mental issue. Did you pick your colour or can you pick other peoples skin colour. It is a mental illness. If waiters can behave like this I’d much rather not sit in an establishment as such being black as they may smile in your face but play with your food in the back, I asked for my money back but they couldn’t even do that properly so I have contacted my bank for a chargeback in regards.
It’s got lovely aesthetics inside but if you’re black and if you do go alone just be mindful that the waiter won’t like you for your skin colour and because of that they can do anything to you when providing ‘service’.
I checked my phone and it shows that I got to the cafe at 15:55 and decided to leave at 16:44. Almost an hour in a near most empty cafe to not be acknowledged in...
Read moreStepping into Café Chloé was like stepping into a dream (You must sit on the right side of the cade). The warm atmosphere instantly enveloped us, thanks to the cozy decor, charming music, and friendly buzz of conversation. But the true highlight was the outstanding service, spearheaded by the wonderful Valentina.
Valentina wasn't just a waitress; she walked us through the menu and gave tips and suggestions. She took the time to understand our preferences, answer our questions with a smile, and ensure we were completely satisfied with everything. This service was one reason I took the effort to write a review
The breakfast and coffee were exceptional. The food and drinks are not only made for consuming, but, we enjoyed taking pictures of it. The overall cafe is bit fancy.
Overall, Café Chloé is a must-visit for anyone seeking a delightful cafe experience in Prague. The stunning ambiance, amazing food and coffee, and exceptional service, especially from Valentina, make it a true gem. I wouldn't hesitate to give it a 5-star rating and recommend it to anyone looking for a great time in a nice cafe with some delicious cakes,...
