This place is a mixed bag.
We first stopped for a coffee on our way from the hotel to the Old town (Mind you, they don’t do takeaway). They only have one option of non-dairy milk: milk made from green peas! Intriguing to say the least but the taste was very good.
After having had a look at the menu, we decided to come back for dinner. It’s perhaps best to book in advance, there are only a few tables at the front, the rest being tucked in a room at the back next to the kitchen.
Dinner was not far off from a disaster. The waiter recommended one of the options of vegetarian linguine, which we went for.
The pasta was quite disappointing, tasted like it had been cooked previously and just reheated quickly on the pan before serving.
We asked for it to be replaced by one of their pinsa romana, the one with red peppers and onions, only to be served the one with sundried tomatoes, olives and arugula, due to the waiter punching the wrong order. It seemed like they had a surplus of sundried tomatoes on that day. The actual pizza base however was excellent, only the toppings let us down. We would go back for the pizza of our choice and the delicious Royal crown cola. (Czech version of coke, served in a beautiful vintage packaging).
Waiters are friendly and smiling, sadly the dinner experience left us a bit off having been served the wrong pinsa as...
Read moreUnfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience. We came three people plus a sleeping baby in a stroller. We took a spot with a bench, which was bit uncomfortable, but when table next to us got empty, we moved there. The waiter told us we can’t sit there, because we would block the street with the third chair, which we respected and of course agreed to move back to the bench. The waiter offered us to take extra chair that was free and put it next to the bench, so all three of us could sit comfortably (and this way we wouldn’t block the street). Meanwhile we got food, but we were disturbed in the middle of eating by other waitress, who said she needs to take the chair, because new people came and wanted to sit on the table next to us. She started arguing and shouting at us, while we tried to explain to her that her colleague suggested us to take the chair and that it’s unfair to take it while we are already sitting and eating. By the time the waitress gave up and let us sit, we were already very upset. The waiters were all acting very unprofessionally with us, and had a childish attitude. I wasn’t expecting anything like that. My recommendation to the owners is that they make sure their employees don’t act like that and destroy the...
Read moreI used to go there almost every day for lunch, but last time I came there with my family for a dinner and got such an attitude without any respect from the brunette lady at the bar, whom I asked to find a place to sit for us. Although there were several free tables, she stated, that she won't have place for us, I showed her, that they have several smaller tables next to each other and asked, if I could sit there with my family, she just ignored my question, so I finally asked her colleague, who allowed us to sit there. After this lady came again very arrogant without menu and told that the kitchen is clothing, although it was 21:20 and kitchen there usually clothes at 22:00..So at the end we just had to change the place. Behavior of this lady and her colleague has nothing to do with nice service, very unpleasant experience, what to tell, my family was shocked and didn't understand, why I bring them to such a place. I loved this cafe because of good vegetarian menu, but won't go there never again and also won't recommend this place to anyone, who doesn't want to experience disrespectful and...
