Today I the day I'll eat in this well known burger joint finally came. So I reserved a spot for a reasonable time since I knew it is always packed on Friday and they won't let you hang out on bar with beer while you wait for an empty chair. I got there and asked to be seated. Much to my disappointment I got the worst possible spot, accompanied by some cheap chrismas light blinking in my face which they thankfully turned off on my request. The beer I learned was all made by Matuška which guaranteed quality and I was not disappointed. I ordered a burgers (as of time of typing this review they have outdated menu on their website), fries and garlic mayo. When burger arrived it looked good, a bit uniform but clean and nicely set. So I took a bite. And immediately noticed that the burger tasted dry. It was nice and juicy but too lean as if they use yoghurt instead of oil and egg mayonaise. I immediately tried the garlic mayo and yes, it tasted like a yoghurt full of starch. Whole food was rather bland, with no fat to bring out the taste. Fries itself rather good, homemade were brought to sea of averageness by this sorry excuse for a mayonaise they use.
Overall I was not happy, burger could be better, fries were ok but everything was brought down by that would-be mayo. No one wants dry burger and even drier fries.

Read moreMeat and Greet is a good place, however there's some things that could be done better. For instance, the place is rather small and usually quite busy and the tables are kind of small and close to each other. Also the music is quite loud, I would say. Whereas the staff was very polite and service swift, I wasn't very satisfied with the food. Regardless of their prices (some might say a bit higher, I say OK for Prague center), the burgers are quite small and I was missing one significant, leading taste in my burger. I mean, the taste was good, but there were several minor tastes that kind of mixed together, but no "major" taste that coud say "Hey, it's me, the unmistakable one". Their homemade fries were dry and quite tasteless, so for me they only added to the overall impression. Last thing - even though this is just my point of view - is the serving. I think that you don't just eat with your mouth, but with your eyes as well, so I would appreciate some garnishing, colours... My burger came on a big, blank plate which gave me the impression of a sad little buddy sitting in the middle of nowhere. To sum it up I think it's a good place if you want something quick, but still fancy. But if you are a burger lover and want to enjoy the place as well as the overall gastronomic experience, there's definitely better...

Service was tragic. The first waiter was plain rude: she didn't allow us to sit at an available table (it wasn't reserved) because it was for 4 people (we were 2) and showed us to a very uncomfortable hanging table for two people in a kind of a doorway from one room to the other (it would have been okay for having a beer, but not eating). I took a look around and the only other available table (which wasn't even suggested to us) was further away and I had to point it out and ask if we can sit there. She "graciously" allowed it because it was near the toilets and most people didn't even care to close the door.
The second waiter was okay at first, she advised us on beers and everything but right when we were ready to pay almost went home without even looking at us (although I was beaming at her for some time already to let her know we finished). The fact that we finished our dinner was pretty obvious also because some other members of staff took our plates from us literally the second we finished - they even tried to take a plate away from my mom while she was still eating!!! And mind it - it's a burger, the sauce is everywhere and it's sticky. Very rude!!!
I hope they treat Czech speakers better, but if you're a tourist try somewhere else, they...
