When a hotel prioritizes a $ sign over customer satisfaction, then clearly they're operating in the wrong industry, and that industry has been let down big time by Boho Prague!
So the story began when I wanted to treat my mom to a vacation in Prague after recently going through some health issues, so I made a non-refundable booking for her and a friend to stay at the "So-called Hotel" for 5 nights via Amoma (Hotel Booking Website), backed by reading a lot of positive reviews about it.
What happened next is that I received an email from Amoma on the 14th of September informing me that they have ceased their operations and advising me to check with "So-called Hotel" if the booking was still active, which I did right away by sending them an email.
Shortly after, I received a confirmation from the "So-called Hotel" informing me that the Booking is perfectly fine and is still active. Fast forward 10 days later I receive a phone call from my mom upon her arrival to the so-called Hotel wanting to inform me that the booking has been cancelled because Amoma filed for bankruptcy and they haven't collected the money for the booking from them.
So I ask to speak to a lady at the reception, to get a logical explanation on why on earth I haven't been contacted by the "So-called Hotel" once they cancelled all bookings made through Amoma, and to my surprise I received the most astonishing answer that with all due respect I would not expect from a one star hotel and that is "we get thousands of emails and they get deleted"!!! They GET DELETED, well that's not my problem and certainly not my mom's, it is plain and simple a serious problem internally not having a proper archiving system!!
To cut the story short, I told the "So-called Hotel" to come up with a solution to clean up the mess they caused by not informing me during those 10 days that the booking got cancelled, and instead wait till their customers arrive to their doorstep to turn them away at the end of a long travel day. So they check with the owner, and offer to help us find another hotel since theirs is fully booked. Come on!! that's the best they can come up with to try and win back a frustrated customer from their own shortcomings!
Seriously "help us find another hotel"!!! I could easily have done that with a click of a button!! So then I tell them, if you want to make amends for failing to a prior notice of the cancellation, find us and pay for that alternative Hotel. So again they tell me "we need to check with owner".
To cut the long story short, and after 2 hours of plain frustration. They get back to me with a cold hearted response "We apologize sir, but there's nothing we can do to help"!!!
That's the best that came out of that lousy "So-called Hotel" and their "$ caring, inhumanely owner". And so they left by foot to the neighboring Grand Mark Hotel without even a goodbye to continue the rest of their vacation.
With love, A very disappointed and...
Read moreWe really enjoyed the stay at BOHO Hotel in Prague. The hotel is very central and a lot of the tourist places and good restaurants are in walking distance. They welcomed us with sparkling wine and then showed us through the hotel with its breakfast / lunch / coffee area and room. The room is very modern & very clean. The bed was huge and comfortable, we had extremly good rests. Just the temperature with default 24.5 was to high for us so always opened windows before sleeping. The ac shuts off when you leave the room. The bathroom shower was really good and we also made use of the bathtub. They even provide bathing salts. The room was very quite we did not notice any other guests or outside noises. For a hotel that central that is really good. When arriving you get a bottle of water and a art book as gift. Additional they gift delicious self-made cookies. Breakfast was really good, especially the omlett / American breakfast. The breakfast service seats you and the omlett is brought to your table. The breakfast buffet fullfils any wish. The also have a Chillout / reading room next to breakfast where you can relax, read books and have coffee. The spa area is nice but quite small. We had the luck to be alone there. The steam sauna was nice. The inside pool is quite small and the massage jets not really strong. But for a free usable spa area you cannot complain. All in all we had a wonderful stay here and would come definitely again. Highly...
Read moreOurs was an excellent experience! My wife wanted to visit Prague for our fortieth wedding anniversary. My intention was finding the most perfect hotel, and I did. We were very well pleased during our stay at the small luxurious BOHO. Many positives! The hotel is well located in Old Town but within easy walking distance of New Town. We enjoy walking and getting our steps in. Trams and buses operate in close proximity. On arrival, we were met by a limo, coordinated by the hotel, for an economical sixty euros. At the hotel, we were welcomed by the staff like long lost friends - friendly, caring, helpful, and service oriented. Special thanks go to both Serge’s at the welcome desk, as well as Anastasia and Igor in the bar. A huge thank-you to each! Each of you made our anniversary special. We enjoyed the happy hour each evening while having the unique opportunity to interact with other guests and the hotel staff. Perfect setting. Occasionally we visited the library during the afternoon coffee hour and pastries. Nice touch! The breakfast buffet had a nice variety of high quality selections - hot and cold. We were very pleased because my wife particularly enjoys breakfast during our vacations. As our vacation was ending, we were saddened, but also pleased, having we had had the perfect opportunity to share our 40th wedding anniversary at the Boho hotel with family. We plan on...
