Pretty decent dining experience. Good service, but should know more about individual dishes, instead of running into the kitchen to ask the cooks about each question. As for the dishes, most are thai or thai-inspired. We tried quite a few items, to most I would give 4/5. They were beautifully presented, but each lacked something to make them perfect. For example, red curry was made with a cheap store-bought curry paste, which is too salty and you cannot control the level of heat. For me, it somewhat destroys the wonderful taste of thai red curry. Why not make your own? It's easy and can be stored for a long time in the freezer... The world's popular Singapore noodles are quite a complex dish; among other things, there should be curry powder instead of just turmeric, and some other essential ingredients were also lacking to make the required taste (such as char siu, prawns, etc). As a result, the taste was rather bland. The menu had a long section of noodle dishes, most of which don't look very 'authentic', and look more like menu-fillers. Mango salad was lovely, but could use more mango :) . We didn't try any soups or specialty dishes; must do next time. My recommendation for improvement would be to significantly cut the number of dishes in the menu, and perfect the ingredients and taste of individual dishes. Still, we had a good time and...
Read moreDinner as a party of 2, and started with Kung Tod (deep fried battered shrimps), followed by Kaeng Ped (red curry) with chicken + jasmine rice and a Phad thai with chicken.
Drinks: green tea, mango home made lemonade.
We enjoy ordering the classics as they are usually a good indicator of the chef's skills.
If I were to nitpick, the shrimps were most probably delivered in a box, breaded and frozen (based on looks taste and price) but the dipping sauce was good.
Phad thai sauce great, could taste tamarind, veggies and chicken ratio to noodles a little off. Can use less moisture as the noodles were kinda clumping together. Missing "wok hey" if you know what I mean.
Kaeng Ped was great, balanced, flavourful, yum. Perfect with rice.
We ended the meal with durian ice cream. It was subtle, milky, sweet, too icy for an ice cream, but I'd say it can be a nice introduction to durian for first timers.
Server was great, polite, friendly, carried a smile while attending to guests.
Overall, it was pretty good for a Thai restaurant in Europe, higher quality than pricier places...
Read moreI was here yesterday with a family of 4. The waiting staff was really nice to us. The restaurant didn’t have AC, but the staff tried to make us feel comfortable by pushing the fan closer to our table. They introduced some of their specialities then my wife decided to taste one in that. The speciality was good, but it was quite medium and not really worth the price. The ingredients they used were not all high-quality anyway. The dressing for their salad was great, and their regular food like Phad Thai was also tasty. However, we didn’t enjoy the time at all, since during our meal we heard a really bad noise and scoldings coming from the kitchen. Maybe the kitchen staff didn’t have a good day at all, so they yelled crazily at each other. This really affects our experience and our mood that day. Sorry for the few stars I gave, hope you all could improve that...
