LOKAL BLOK — Restaurant in Prague

Me and my friend visited this place the second time, after a long time, and it was the last time. First time it was fairly good, long time ago. This time it was truly unpleasant and we said we'd never ever come to this place again. First eye contact was made with a young fella, who was nice, but then we were approached by one of the waitresses and she seemed like she didn't like working there. Young brunette. No smile, just "sit wherever you want" attitude. We sat down and to our big surprise we totally forgot how expensive this place is. Even for an average beer which my friend ordered. I had late and it was the second most expensive coffee. The only affordable food was a kid's meal - steak with fries, and it was as small as a light snack. Speaking of any normal food, it was over 250 CZK. Even burgers were reaching 300 CZK, which is crazy. Even when ordering our choices of food and drink, we were glad we had enough money with us. It is truly weird and shocking to run an expensive place while employing careless and grumpy waitresses. I recommend visiting other places around that area, there are surely owners and staff who will be happy to have you in...

I really have a hard time understanding why this restaurant has the Lokal sign, it is so far removed from the concept developed by Ambiente. Nothing is right in this restaurant: 1980s decor, absolutely not functional furniture (the seats are not in line with the table heights), unfriendly staff and the food is a real disaster; I have lived in Prague for a few years and this is by far the worst restaurant I have ever tried. Came with 2 in the evening and ordered 2 Portobello burgers that we could not eat because they were so bad. The cap of a huge blackened and rubbery mushroom, bottom pieces of bad Spanish tomatoes, roughly chopped and tasteless ingredients. Don't waste your time in this...

Avoid this place, waiters are rude. Was 1st October 2016 Saturday 1:00 (already Sunday) and they offered last drinks. 10 minutes after they start to pressure to drink fast despite the time to close is at 2:00 (I could see that in the door). They SWITCH OFF the lights. I called to the police and when I asked to the waiter the address of the bar he told me that he didn't know. I wrote to the owner (I suppose that is the owner Tomas Rybar) and he answer with a very bad English literally: "When it is not busy, we close early. We call last drinks. If you like to call police, I will not give you adress too..:). Many thanks for your visit. Tomas" (sic) save your money, this place...
