I dont like leaving negative or even semi negative reviews, especially if I enjoyed the food, but I honestly cant remember the last time i was so disappointed by the service.
I reserved a table a day before for 16:30, when we came in a girl told us they made a mistake a double booked the table for 18:00. We had a birthday celebration and wanted to do K-BBQ, not rush anywhere. So I asked her if she think we would manage in that shortened time. The waitress was constantly unsure, and although somewhat apologetic didnt offer a concrete solution. Instead she just told us that we would manage time wise because if we’re doing bbq then they just need to bring the meat out.
The initial “welcome” would’ve not marred the experience if the follow up was nice, but it wasn’t. None of us had done K-BBQ before, they did both explain how to turn on the gas plate or how to operate it (even after they already brought some meat). The korean waitress with the glasses then seemed rather rude when someone took a plate meant for oil and tried using it (and yet, no one said why it’s there, how were we supposed to know?) Then, when we ordered rice with the initial order it took them around 20 minutes to bring it because they forgot it, thankfully it’s something thats ready and just needs to be brought out but annoying nonetheless. We ordered two meat combos, and they forgot one, needed a reminder to bring it.
The problem with this while situation was that throughout this we did not really receive an apology or the service wasnt improved throughout for me to say it was actually okay. The first girl who met us at the door seemed sweet, but so indecisive and unsure of how to do her job. When we started ordering the restaurant was EMPTY, we would’ve loved to have been tended to properly. Secondly, after the first waitress insisted that the BBQ is fast, I would have expected that they’d focus on that fast and good service so we could clear out the table, instead they kept forgetting orders- how is that possible?
The service experience, while inconvenient and unpleasant, could always be worse but honestly it’s the main thing that makes me hesitate to comeback because the meat was great and for a fair price. I hope that the service...
Read moreI'm Korean living in Canada. I travel a lot with my family and whenever we travel we visit Korean restaurants at least once in that city. Mando and Jajang noodles seemed cooked from all instant food packages. My daughter had U-dong and that one doesn't look bad. We also had Budae 찌개 and that tastes pretty good. In general, food was just okay. I gave one star because when you pay, she askes so loud to customers 'do you want to tip? how many percent?'... I've never ever experienced this kind of thing. Usually they hand it out the machine but here she does it... She asks so loud so everyone there can hear... I had to listen how much other people give the tip... very strange!!! No class here!!! And the other waitress (she seems more like an owner or maneger) asked very nicely if we want to have more complimentary sidedishes so we asked couple more and she had never come back... Why did you ask then? We didn't ask first...she offered but never came back.. Somehow Soju( I think it was 참이슬) tasted very strange..how can be?... we opened...We do not know why..my husband and I drink Soju often but this time it tasted very strange...almost no alchohol...so strange so we blamed ourselves...maybe we should...
Read moreToday I have experienced the most horrible and terrible service in my lifetime. I ordered my food, without much problem and waited with drink. In the meantime I saw group of people came in. I can definitely say that I ordered first than them, but I had to wait much more than them- in the end 50 minutes was spent just to wait the food. I had to ask the clerk if they got my order, to which they did not reply until I ask again. I have never ever neglected in any other restaurants in the world. Of course I might have to wait 50 minutes, but first, I ordered first. And second, even though, well, let's say that they prioritized grouped customers, then the staff should have let me know that the food can be delayed, a lot, much more than people normally expect. And last, they never said sorry for delayed food. So if you want to go to this restaurant, check if there is any other grouped customers first, because the restaurant will not be able to deal with your orders. They obviously do not have an ability to manage all customers they have. Even one star is too good for this one. I would never ever go to this restaurant again. I just wanted to get Korean food that I missed for weeks, but this place ruined...
