Wow, this Hotel is amazing. Booked it for Two nights and it has an amazing vibe. The rooms are spacious and you will find most of the things you need in the room. Very uniquely designed and organized. Except the dental and shaving kits and iron box and board are not available . (maybe it's expensive for them) The breakfast is average actually, I'll rather eat outside than give them 20 euros for it. The reception desk is unique, I was attended by Mira, who was a little apprehensive and needed deposit and card details despite of having a card on file (your reservation desk confirmed the booking after I booked it via Expedia, so obviously you had my card on file). No other hotel in Europe has ever asked for my schengen visa copy but Mira had a doubt on me, howcome an Indian afford a four/five star hotel (at least that's what Expedia tells me about your hotel rating). The location is perfect and is close to everything in Prague. Also, why do you assume that if I'm staying solo then one key is enough? At least have the courtesy to ask please. Lastly, to Mr. Bartender and the gentleman along with him with Grey beard (I'm guessing, he's the manager and bar) , if you don't have a draft beer, say it. Don't tell me that it's time you upgrade yourself. I'm sorry but you have no right to talk to a house guest like that. It is my bloody wish to drink draft or bottle. If I can afford to stay in your hotel, I can afford the beer for sure. It's high time you guys realize that you are in service industry. Treating a guest well is your job, don't belittle me. I paid more for the room in one night than what you make in a week. So shut up and be more mannerful next time. Sorry Mr. Manfred Tobolka, General manager. Your poor staff ethics are forcing me to put such reviews. Trust me I loved...

I stayed at Hotel Josef for 5 nights in Mid September. Location is great! Amenities are pretty good. Standard hotel gym (small, limited equipment and on the top floor with lots of windows so HOT in the afternoon). Breakfast is GREAT! Coffee maker in the room. There was a sofa and two chairs in the room and sufficient storage for clothing. A mini bar that is stocked with sparking water and juices was included.

I reserved a balcony room and on check in was told I was upgraded (maybe to the top floor instead of the 7th, or a better view?). The room was spacious and the balcony was wonderful with a great view. The entire hotel was clean and true to the galleries on their website.

Overall I was very happy but two things drove me to a 4 star instead of a 5 star. I thought the bathroom was dangerous. There is a step up from the main floor and there is a very clean glass wall that you cannot see in the dark. I moved furniture on both sides of the glass so I would not walk into it (which I did my first night). Because the entire bathroom is glass you can't really leave a night light on. Second while the staff were very friendly and professional, there were little frustrations and requests were not always handled quickly. For example, my first cleaning I did not get any hand towels and it took several trips to the front desk before they arrived hours later. I got two room keys and left one in the pad that is necessary to turn on the lights and every time my room was cleaned housekeeping removed the card and took it with them. Small things really in service that kept it from being a top notch experience.

At a rate of $229 US a night I thought it was a decent value and overall a good experience. I would recommend...

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Josef and I highly recommend the hotel and location. This was our third visit in 11 years, and the manager greeted us warmly at check in, recognizing us as repeat guests and welcoming us back. I felt like they rolled out the red carpet for us.

The rooms on the top floor with balconies are worth it -- extremely quiet, nicely sized for two people, and with the added benefit of being able to open the door and enjoy the fresh air. Plus the bathroom with great shower and deep tub was appreciated after a long day of travel. The bed was very comfortable even after 5 nights!

The breakfast was extensive, with a large menu of items from the kitchen to select from as well as an impressive buffet of hot and cold foods, fresh-baked bread and pastries, fruits, salads, jams and more. Coffee is made to order by the staff and always excellent. I ordered a cortado, which I could tell was not as common, but each morning the staff delivered a perfect cortado, sometimes after quietly consulting with a colleague. I appreciated the special service. I ordered a different dish each morning and enjoyed all of them. Also, breakfast is served quite late, which was helpful since we were still adjusting to the time difference. The servers never seemed annoyed by those of us squeezing in toward the end of the service, which I appreciated.

I want to give an extra special thanks to Mohammed who really treated us so well upon arrival and made us feel like VIPs.

We will be back and will highly recommend Hotel Josef. The entire experience and team made a huge impression. You can tell they take a lot of pride in the work of delivering an exceptional guest...

I would like to give this hotel more stars but unfortunately they don't meet 5 Stars standard on the two most important things. The bed was extra firm. For a highend luxury hotel and the prices they charge they should have comfortable beds. I checked the year on the mattress, and it was old. Very disappointing. Also the room was very hot. The A/C system is far out of date. It ranged from 75°- 80° durning the night because the A/C system will not turn on if the temperature outside is below a certain level. That doesn't help the inside of a well insulated commercial building. The windows do open, but the streets below are filled with loud nightclubs that are packed and that go all night. Yelling, screaming, and honking. Woke up sweaty and to loud noises every night. Only manged a couple hours sleep every night kinds ruin the whole trip. On the plus side, their customer service is fantastic. I understand the terrible AC is not the employees' fault, and they did get me a fan, but it didn't do much. Just the quality of sleep was terrible. The design of the hotel was amazing and the breakestfast was delicious but what good is that when you are out all day seeing the sights and just need to recharge but you can't. Especially at what they charge compared to others. They charge luxury prices but you get discount room quality. I'm so disappointed. I would not ever stay here again, and I highly recommend avoiding this place if you want a quality night sleep. I attached some pics of how busy the streets are at night all night right infront of the hotel
