We had a great time at the Vintage Design Hotel. We arrived very late after a 22 hour travel day to get to Prague. We were greeted at the desk with hot mulled wine and a friendly face. They offered us an upgrade on our room which was very kind (it ended up just being an additional bedroom which wasn't used, but still, very kind). The location of the hotel was perfect for us. We were right across the bridge from the city center but tucked away on a quite street. The breakfast was delicious each morning and it was a great way to start the day. The bed was a bit firm, but surprisingly for me, it was the best sleep we had on the trip. The rooms and the lobby space were very cute and we enjoyed the 1950s Christmas music that played at breakfast. Overall a very good stay and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Prague

Overall a decent hotel. Rooms were okay, felt a little dated and worn, but the view of Prague from the balcony was incredible. Location is okay, the wrong side of the river for Old Town and many of the main attractions in Prague, but still close enough that the walk isn't too bad. It's close to the castle which affords a great view, though the walk to get there is all uphill. The parking situation is a little odd, just make sure you have some cash when you check out. All told, no major complaints and the view of the city almost made up for everything else.

The period of the glory of the Vintage Design Sax Hotel obviously passed many years ago. Dirty and scratched walls, cracked tile, tattered flooring carpet, peeling paint, rusted window frames, torn off blinds is not what you expect booking superior room in a four star hotel. Further more the floor heating in a bathroom is out of order and there is no other heating. Guys at the reception desk are 'helpless' and not even willing to solve the problem by providing electric heater. I strongly do not advise booking. It's definitely not a four star hotel.

I don't know why anyone would call this place clean or comfortable. I am baffled by how disgusting this hotel was. We only stayed about two hours before we promptly booked another hotel and left. First, the room was so fragrant. I could hardly breath it stunk so bad, and I wouldn't even sit on the bed because the sheets were so fragrant. Then, we realized how incredibly dirty the carpet and walls were. There were so many stains on the carpets and walls, and there was even a huge burn mark on the floor. Next, came the ants. There were quite a few ants running around the room and they got all over a pair of our shoes. Another filthy detail is that the chair in the room smelled so sour, as if had been cleaned over and over with a dirty rag. Finally, the room and balcony used in the photos for the room we booked looked nothing like the actual room we got, and the balcony was much smaller. We checked out within 2.5 hours or less and we did not ask for a refund, but were offered a refund. They literally encouraged us to call Expedia so that Expedia could call them confirm the refund. But when Expedia called to confirm the refund, the hotel denied it. The only redeeming quality about this place is its prime location. If you want to be I'm the heart of Mala Strana, and you don't mind a dirty and run down hotel, then go for it. If you want to feel clean and cozy, this is absolutely not the place for you. I'm so disappointed with this "hotel." It's so gross and I...

PARKING COSTS EXTRA! I was pleased by the location, and the room was clean, and breakfast was totally sufficient. The reason for my less than stellar review is that it is not clear that the hotel parking cost money, it is not clearly stated on the website, it only says you need to arrange it in advance. They also did not inform me of the cost when I checked in, nor did they mention the "city tax" so when I checked out, thinking I owed nothing more, I was surprised by 1500 czk (60 euro) in fees for parking and city tax for two nights! Had this been communicated at checkin (or even better, written clearly on the website) I would not have been shocked. I assumed that parking was included in my booking. Lastly, the mattress in our room had two deep indentations that were not comfortable. I think this hotel is great for it's cleanliness and location, however it could use some improvements in the areas I mentioned, and I hope someone else can avoid the surprise extra fees by knowing...

I want to share my impressions of visiting this hotel. The hotel is simply beautiful. In the city center, with delicious breakfasts, always available coffee and goodies. I would also like to say something about the staff. These are wonderful people who will explain, advise and help. My mother was in Prague for the first time, traveling on business. She needed help in calling a taxi, navigating the area, etc. The hotel team helped sort everything out. They were always friendly and humane. I would like to say a special thank you to the girls from the kitchen - Natalya and Victoria. Wonderful people. I also want to say a huge thank you to Maryana. I am very grateful to her for the help and support she provided to my mother. She helped throughout the entire stay, gave advice and support. I am very grateful to Maryana for the fact that she was the one at the workplace when my mother stopped by. Many thanks to her! I highly recommend this hotel and...
