Read moreMoc příjemné posezení v klidném prostoru Písecké brány (nazývané také Bruská či Karlova), která bývala součástí Mariánských hradeb, bývalého barokního opevnění Prahy, v ulici K Brusce, nedaleko od stanice metra Hradčanská. Ze sedmi bran se dodnes dochovaly pouze tři: Táborská a Leopoldova na Vyšehradě a Písecká na Hradčanech. Své jméno brána získala od dnes již neexistujícího předměstí, zvaného Písek. Brána leží mezi dosud zachovalými bastiony XVI. (sv. Jiří) a XVII. (sv. Ludmily). Ty jsou jasně patrné pod stejnojmennými ulicemi v okolí brány. Směrem odtud se zachovaly ještě bastiony na Letné.
Very pleasant sitting in the quiet Písecká Gate, which was part of Mariánské hradby, the former baroque fortification of Prague, in the street K Brusce, near Hradčanská metro station. Of the seven gates, only three are preserved: Táborská and Leopoldova in Vyšehrad and Písecká on Hradčany area. Its name has been taken from the now-nonexistent suburb, called Písek. The gate lies between the preserved bastions of XVI (St. George) and XVII. (St. Ludmila). These are clearly evident under the same street names...
