Wooow! If you are in Prague, make sure you visit Pelmenarna in Jiriho z Podebrad. Their food is out of this world! Being a Russian German, I grew up with pelmeni and vareniki. Now, living abroad I miss my home country´s meals. What a surprise I got when we discovered this Pelmenarna!
Pelmeni, Chinkali and the soup tasted AMAZING!! It is not only the food, but the whole atmosphere in the restaurant that makes it a special experience. The interior design, the love to details, and even the guests of the restaurants - all contribute to the feeling of being welcomed and at home at your grandmothers for lunch.
The food itself is OUTSTANDING! High quality food, huge portions, and most importantly - all pelmeni, or vareniki were made by hand!!! They are freshly made by the most loving lady, Ms. Lika who is giving all her love into each and every one of the pelmeni! I have never met a chef with so much passion for her work. Alone that is a reason to visit. That is why the food here is extra special! It was soo good that we came twice a day to eat that delicious food. And if you are there, try their soups. They are incredibly delicious and most importantly, made fresh! Without all the chemicals, and glutamates.. Freshly made like at home.
I highly highly recommend this place! You won't be disappointed. If you want to try the best pelmeni, vareniki, chinkali and other Georgian delicacies made with the utmost love and passion - THIS pelmenarna in Jiriho z Podebrad...
Read moreWe stumbled upon Pelmenarna while walking by, drawn in by its cozy décor and inviting menu — and it turned out to be such a pleasant surprise. The restaurant feels warm, comfortable, and very clean, with a friendly atmosphere that makes you want to linger.
The Kharcho soup was the star of our meal — rich, aromatic, and full of depth. The broth was perfectly balanced and deeply satisfying; I would have happily gone for a second bowl if I’d had the space!
We also ordered Beef and Pork Pelmeni, Khinkali with lamb, Dolma, and Lavash. The pelmeni tasted homemade and were cooked thoroughly — no red spots inside — though we personally would have liked a touch more butter and pepper. The dolma was excellent: generously filled with flavorful meat, something you don’t see everywhere. I wasn’t used to having dolma with a sour cream and dill side, but it worked beautifully. The lavash wasn’t quite what we expected, but still tasty, and the khinkali were juicy with a nicely balanced flavor.
We also tried their homemade lemonades — the lemon & mint was wonderfully refreshing, while the tarragon lemonade was more of an acquired taste for me, but still interesting to try.
The staff were very nice, service was fast, and everything ran smoothly. Overall, Pelmenarna offers delicious food in a cozy setting, and we’ll definitely be coming back. It’s the kind of place that leaves you smiling — and still talking about the...

The atmosphere inside is very pleasant, there are authentic candles for you on every table🕯 We bought local soups and Ossetian pies next to it. If you want to try all the local delicacies, it's worth knowing that the portions are a little large. For example, we ate ossetian pies for two person. It was all tasty, the service was fast and the team was friendly🍲
Finally, we wanted to have tea after dinner and we ordered two separate teas; our favorite is definitely apple cinnamon! Here we can also say that one order is enough for...
