The worst experience I have had in Prague so far was from this restaurant. The second me and my girlfriend entered the restaurant, the waiters started staring at us like some prey. We sat down and a waiter gave us an English menu (we are Asians, so we are tourists by default). We ordered the ribs and pasta, but later found out that the prices on the English menu and the Local menu are completely different, the latter being cheaper. But that was acceptable, because we found out that the food on both menu are not the same (with one or two dishes being identical, still differently priced). The food came, and the ribs were massive, too massive for two people to share, and it was dry af, probably the worst ribs I have had. But the most bizarre thing was when we asked for the bill, the waiter came with a credit machine in hand, didn’t ask us whether we wanted to pay in cash or card, and with a price of 509 czk already entered in the machine without a bill listing what we ordered or what they were charging us. Me and my girlfriend have read some of the comments from the reviews for this restaurant, and knew something fishy was going on, so we asked for the bill to check. And oh boy, from the bill, we were only to pay 469 czk, that means they tried to trick us into paying 40 czk more. It’s not much, but it’s still lying to your customers. Then we decided to pay in cash because god knows what they will charge us again. We paid in total 1069 czk in cash, and the waiter should return 600 czk for change. But the waiter gave us 500 czk in change and tried to trick us again! Then, we asked him to give us 600 czk instead of 500, he pulled out another 100 czk note so unwillingly. I totally discourage any tourists, especially Asians, to go to this restaurant, because when you’re not careful, they will rip you off completely!!!!! P.S. Another thing that threw us off was an item on the menu, which said “whole...

I recently spent my vacation in Prague with my mother, and my local friend highly recommended this restaurant. Sadly, what should have been a pleasant dining experience turned into a deeply disappointing one.
Upon entering, a male waiter greeted us with an extremely indifferent attitude. Instead of a comfortable table, he seated us right next to the door. When I politely asked him twice if all the other tables were reserved, he grew visibly impatient. To my shock, I even caught him rolling his eyes as he turned away. We reluctantly accepted the table since we didn't have other options.
However, after we placed our orders, three separate groups of customers walked in without reservations. I clearly heard them say they hadn't booked, yet they were promptly seated at tables with cozy sofa seats. It made me wonder: Was this differential treatment due to our Asian appearance? It felt like a form of hidden racism.
When it came time to check the bill, the same waiter barked at me, ordering me to wait in a rude tone. I understand the restaurant might have been busy, but that's no excuse for such disrespectful behavior. I pay the same price as everyone else and contribute my fair share of taxes. I started the evening being patient, even kindly telling him "take your time," but his actions were unacceptable.
To be fair, the food itself was delicious—I truly enjoyed the flavors. But the abysmal service overshadowed the culinary experience. Having traveled to over 20 countries, this is the first time I've encountered such discriminatory service. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on training staff to treat all customers equally, regardless of...
Read moreThink big. This is not the place for a quick bite or a slight snack. The decor is mid-seventies ski slope steak house, and had I stumbled in the door with my Rossignols still strapped to feet and my K2's propped on the rack outside on a winter day in the Laurentians sometime during the Carter administration, well, I wouldn't have batted an eyelash. This place is THAT stuck in a time warp.
Now, don't get me wrong. The food can be quite tasty, but you need to be judicious in your ordering, particularly if you are on a shoestring budget like my wife and I. This place specializes in huge joints of pork served on skewer racks. We selected a platter from the "Big Eater" portion of the menu and shared. The cut of pork was so well-browned and tender that I first thought they had brought us a beef sirloin by mistake. It was served with sweet cabbage and some of the best onion rings I've ever eaten. Along with a basket of fresh sliced rye bread, the shared meal was more than enough.
I would have awarded this restaurant a full five stars had the bill been closer to 200 kc rather than over 300 kc, which is what we ended up paying. One meal and two Cokes just shouldn't cost that much in my highly un-humble opinion. There are plenty of places in Prague where you can eat just as well for less.
But they do pork like...
