I had the worst culinary experience of my life in this "restaurant". Ordered two burgers and some nachos at 8:20. Nothing happened until 9:40, so I became nervous and went to ask. No clear answer, just some mumbled words. If we hadn't been so tired after a long day of walking we would have left. Unfortunately you pay up front, so you are rather inclined to wait for your already paid food. The burgers were very bad, the patty very well done but COLD. The bun was soft and made the impression of a MC Donalds bun from the day before. The fries were fatty and sloppy, but very thick and not well done, still a little raw in the middle. The nachos with the cheese had been heated in the microwave, so everything became a big ball of plastic instead of nice and crispy and cheesy. No drinks etc were offered, you paid and then they forgot about you. That evening there were many customers that waited as long for their order, everyone seemed very unamused. Some even wanted their money back (I'm sure they didn't walk 10000 kms that day (;). There was even a small family with two little children who arrived shortly after us. We didn't even eat half of our food, which usually NEVER happens, especially in such a pricy city, so when we left at about 10pm (Burgers arrived about 9:48) the family with the little children still had nothing to eat. I bet they also just wanted to grab a quick burger. So all in all the service was bad (you have to order everything at the bar by yourself, they didn't give any information on the delay) the food was a disaster and we lost an evening. If we had plans to go to the cinema etc this would have also not worked. For a few crowns more you can either go up or done the street a few steps und you find many good restaurants who are worth their money and the time. We are very sad that we lost one evening in the otherwise culinary interesting city. I would have made a picture of the food but when it arrived the sun was already down ;) so if you are in Copenhagen, please cross the road and don't look at the friendly...
Read moreWe got trolled this morning for breakfast! 😅😅 If the breakfast arrives in 20 seconds and I mean bacon, scrambled and fried eggs, fruit and so on…….then there is something wrong! And we found out in less than two bites…….what exactly was wrong with the breakfast. EVERYTHING! And weirdly enough, we had to pay for everything before the „breakfast“ was even ordered. And for some reason when we were a bit surprised with that hoping that the owner will probably give us some logical explanation, all we were given was a machine to swipe our card and a complimentary smirk by the owner. Now with the overall experience been described, Allow me to get into the detailed description of the break-super-fast.
The scrambled egg had an expression that it wanted to go back into the shell. The bacon lay over the scrambled egg crispier than lays! (Maybe it was bacon flavoured lays). It was more burnt than Notre Dame cathedral in France. I think he had the fruit in Cafe Trold when Shakespeare said „there is something rotten in the state of Denmark“!!
When we had to leave, the owner didn’t even ask as to why I am returning the entire portion of scrambled eggs and bacon. It was almost as if he was waiting for us to leave so that this plate can go back in to fridge!
Awful experience, but we definitely had a good laugh about it. :) The food was terrible, but apart from that, Cafe Trold is definitely our favourite comedy club...
Read moreTravelers to Copenhagen, don't come here!!!!!!!We went to here because it's very easy to see in the street and we are too hungry to search further for high reviewed restaurants. Turns out we should really look further. We orders hamburger and Tournados. The first strange experience is that we were asked to pay even before the food is on table. Then we wait for more than half an hour for the food while it was not so busy, and lots of empty tables around us. When the food came, we found all the meat was totally burned. The hamburger was totally black on both sides, the Tournados was burned outside and dry inside, and the side dish bacon was as black as carbon. After the waiter droped food on the table, we never saw him again. I think the reason we were asked for payment before food is they know their horrible quality. We complained the the bartender, first she tried to argue that grilled meat should be a bit burned. After that she tried to explain the kichen is too busy, although only few customers. It seems they think they don't care and don't need customers to come back, just some tourists will...
