Would give 0 stars if I could. If you're on the fence about staying here DON'T. Way overpriced 'boutique' hotel.
At check in the floor was filthy and there were hairs in the shower, overall just felt gross and dirty. The bed is dressed with decorative pillows and covers that never get washed on the clean bedding. Every counter space has wine glasses or overpowering air fresheners so you have no where to put your stuff.
The bed was AWFUL, I actually never complain to the staff but given we were booked for 3 nights I went to the front desk to ask for help. The gentleman at the front desk was nice and wanted to help but said there were no mattress pads. Instead he gave me a key to another room to see if that bed was comfortable. When I returned and said it was the same, he called his manager to further assist and magically the manager said they had a mattress pad. Okay, sure let's try that.
The mattress pad they put on the king size bed was for a double (see photo)! Like am I being punked? It didn't fit the bed (obviously) so two adults were expected to cram on this pad, which was not soft by the way.
The shower/tub combo had no curtain so water went absolutely everywhere when showering, limited where you can keep things even more because the entire bathroom would flood and counters get splashed while showering.
I actually mentioned all this in the generated email they sent saying "we saw you checked in how is everything etc". They emailed me saying they tried to reach me about resolving the issues (hard bed, dirty floors, poorly designed room, no space, etc.) and I didn't answer. But, after their 'solution' to the uncomfortable bed there was nothing they could do, it's just a horrible hotel overcharging guests with false advertisement and inflated prices.
Not to mention when we were checking in we said we would receive a gift if we opted out of room cleaning, which we did for all 3 days on the spot, did we ever receive any gifts? No.
Also there are no quiet hours, the housekeepers start blasting the vacuums and cleaning the rooms at 7am with no regards to the noise or sleeping guests. And when I went to my room on checkout day at 9:50am after breakfast, I encountered a house maid with a key on hand who told me she needed to clean my room, AND I HADNT CHECKED OUT YET.
Just wild. Would absolutely avoid this scam of a place and take your money elsewhere like to a nice Clarion or other chain. This hotel misses the mark on everything that matters: ❌clean room, ❌ comfortable bed, ❌ quiet place to sleep. Don't listen to the hype about the 'wine hour' where they serve low quality house wine for an hour for free, so many things that don't matter are mentioned in these reviews and I encourage you to think about the absolute basics of comfort and quality before...
Read moreLoved our 2 night stay at Andersen Hotel. We had particular requirements for our rooms and emailed the hotel to enquire. Their replies were prompt, and when we arrived, the rooms were set up exactly as they promised. Booked a Wonderful Room and a Mega Wonderful Room - our Mega Wonderful for 3 persons had 2 full bathrooms which was so convenient.
A few days before our arrival, the hotel sent a pre-check in survey to find out more about our preferences, and I was also able to upload our personal details and make payment so that actual check-in was super quick. Reception staff were always very friendly and efficient.
The lobby doubles as the breakfast area and is really cozy and cute with lots of comfortable seating and little tables. There are cute details like free cookies and treats at the reception as well as every stair landing. There’s free Nespresso in the lobby as well as a still and sparkling water dispenser.
Breakfast selection was beautifully presented, fresh and good quality, small but well thought out selection. Boiled eggs are done perfectly, no mean feat - yolks are cooked but not chalky or green (unlike what you get at many other bigger hotels!) The bacon was very tasty as well, not too salty and uniformly well cooked and crispy. The breakfast crew are very smiley and attentive to clear dishes and refill the buffet items. Outside breakfast hours, the area becomes an honesty bar with a wide selection of drinks as well as some snacks.
The rooms were clean and quiet, well furnished with thoughtful details like the large heated bathroom mirror that stayed clear and made the bathroom nice and warm. (Bedside USB ports need to be checked; not all worked, but this is a very minor detail.) Wifi was easy to log into and fast. If there’s one thing we would have liked in the rooms, it would have been a kettle. Although there’s a Nespresso machine, but it did not work so well for making hot water for tea.
Location is amazing, just a few minutes’ walk from the Central Station yet on a quiet and clean street. We would definitely...
Read moreExcellent hotel for all (business, leisure, groups, etc.). We had a small group, eight of us, visiting Copenhagen for advocacy work. The spaces and services were perfect. The lobby has lots of space, and lots of spaces for meetings and relaxing. If you need a private corner, they have it. You need a large space and table, they have it. You need comfy chairs, they have them. I can't believe I didn't get pictures of any of it! Anyway, there was never a space issue. Even at the busiest times, there was still plenty of space.
The included breakfast in the morning was superb. It had a great selection of yoghurts, fruits, cereals, breads, pastries, eggs, cheeses, meats, smoked salmon, juices, and milks. It also had a great coffee/espresso station, and a most excellent tea station. I greatly enjoyed breakfast every morning. The staff kept the buffet well stocked and everything nice and clean.
The reception desk staff were always wonderful. We were always greeted with a smile. They were super helpful with directions, reservations, calling us cabs, and providing us drinks. The hotel has a lovely complimentary happy hour every evening with a selection of delicious wines. I've never felt more welcome and more accommodated. And the complimentary water cartons were greatly appreciated, especially because I forgot to bring a water bottle.
It is an exceptional hotel and it has a very reasonable nightly rate. The rooms are beautiful and well appointed. The large windows were wonderful for letting light in during the day and the blackout curtains were perfect for having a totally dark room for getting a perfect night of sleep. The internet worked well throughout. The bathroom had very nice towels and shower. Its central location near the train station made it super convenient to all of Copenhagen....
