As Resto bar is related to Pastis, we decided to give it a try. It's mostly classic Italian dishes, with a few twists. We went in with open minds, and were rewarded with a very nice experience (don't get fooled by the old-school website). We asked for a quiet table, and got the most remote table, which was really nice service. We tried nine different dishes, mostly antipasti, and were pleasantly surprised by the variety and balance of the flavours. All dishes, but one, were excellent - the pigeon dish were not my favorite, but I think it did deserve a place on the menu. What I really recommend trying: Anchovy crostini, burrata with grilled peppers, scallops, vitello tonnato, tuna carpaccio, halibut and tiramisu (yes, they are all highly recommendable). Wine list wasn't extensive, but still good enough for most people. We had the cremant and the natural Spumante, which were both well worth the money. I opted for a cortado with the dessert, which had dark roasted beans, and well tempered milk - just as I like it. Service were vigilant throughout the evening: Serving, being present, and coming back when promised. Definitely coming...
Read moreSeeing the positive comments, I doubt the veracity of the customers who have reviewed. The place is has an aesthetic of French Bitro, the menu is very small and the elaboration of the dishes does not justify the high prices. That said, we ordered lamb ribs and pasta with duck ragu (but since there was no duck ragu, they made it with osso buco. Nothing to see). My negative review is for the lack of attention from the waitresses, since after asking for the menu for dessert, they did not come to take note so after trying to get attention without response, we decided to get up, pay and leave. We commented on it and the curly haired brunette waitress had a haughty and unfriendly attitude (but it must be her character as she was like that from the start.) 650dkk for two main courses and two glasses of red wine. You can tell it has only been in operation for a short time and they need to train the wait staff better, especially the girl who served us. If you want to feel ignored, this is the place. It's a shame, because the place has a lot of...
Read moreAfter arriving in Copenhagen with hungry bellies, we stumbled across a hidden gem: Resto Bar. Tucked away and bustling with locals, it had such a welcoming vibe. Despite being busy, the waiters went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable!
We were greeted with a delightful charcuterie board and fresh bread with oils while deciding on our mains. My parents went for the 4-course set menu (240 kr / £27), which included a refreshing tomato caprese salad, zesty ceviche with grapefruit, sausage tostadas, and an indulgent lamb and spinach pasta.
Tim and I couldn’t resist the rabbit ragu with Parmesan (165 kr / £18.50), and wow—it was bursting with flavor and so incredibly fresh. The open-plan kitchen added to the charm, showcasing the care and precision that went into every dish.
To top it all off, we shared a bottle of smooth Italian red, perfectly complementing our meal.
