Our experience here was a huge disappointment. Despite the beautiful furnishings and high expectations due to the hype, it failed to deliver on most fronts.
The staff seemed very inexperienced and lacked an eye for service. The Carpaccio dish was the worst ever, and the salad on top of it seemed to be a simple pre-package mix from Netto.
The timing of the meals was poorly managed. After finishing starters, our pasta dishes were immediately rushed to the table, despite over 50% of our party being away on a quick bathroom break. Due to the rushed "service", the presentation of the Cacio e Pepe dish also failed. While rushing out the pasta, the server had also already rolled out the prepared Cacio e Pepe cart, which made him have to wait for the rest to return from the bathroom before starting the presentation. - We had to call the once who were missing, and saw them running out back to the table from the bathroom being super stressed... This delay caused the other dishes to grow cold and lose their intended flavor, and also the Cacio e Pepe-pasta becoming cold and clumping together into a single mass, making it difficult for the server to separate and present it properly.
Furthermore, in traditional service, it's customary to allow guests to enjoy their time between courses and ensure that everyone is ready for the main course before serving it. However, this was not observed, and the main course was rushed out without checking if everybody were sitting at the table, and had filled glasses. This oversight detracted from the overall dining experience since we focused on getting eye contact with someone to order drinks.
They also tried to rush us into ordering dessert, and we were really looking forward trying one of each after seeing pictures. However, we decided to just pay and leave because we were feeling so stressed after all this.
In summary, our experience was marred by poor service and rushed meal pacing, leaving us all really disappointed and dissatisfied when we left. We even decided to all go home instead of going to a bar after as planned, due to the mood...
Read moreThe service was friendly, our waiter kindly attended our table several times but the tables could have been cleared up faster.
Despite the restaurant being situated in a hotel the atmosphere was actually soothing - there was music playing, people eating and talking as well as staff working but the noises were not overwhelming. The decor is also gorgeous. However the seats and sofas are not comfortable.
The burrata cheese itself had a bit of a sour flavour which we did not prefer, lots of tomatoes and olive oil which is a must. Overall this dish was ok but really needed a touch of seasoning and balsamic vinegar.
The truffle pizza was flavoursome in the first bite but soon became bland - not enough truffle. For this price point the sharer pizza should have been slightly bigger with more truffle and served with a truffle dipping sauce.
The arancini was good. We enjoyed the tomato sauce but the arancini itself was also lacking some herbs.
The margarita pizza was made poorly. The dough was very soggy, the pizza was burned on one side and undercooked on the other side. The toppings had no flavour. Although we could tell the dough itself was good - the toppings of the pizza and baking really let this dish down.
The pasta alla vodka was great. The stracciatella was creamy, the sauce of the pasta was just right and the pasta itself was al dente to the right extent. Excellently made.
The sparkling water here was extremely fizzy so if that is your thing you will enjoy it.
Overall the ambience was good but we did find that this restaurant was too expensive for what it offered.
I would still recommend a visit here if you are in the mood for some pasta and a...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant as a group of ten and were welcomed with a warm atmosphere, beautiful Italian-style decor, and truly excellent service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel very well taken care of throughout the evening — definitely one of the highlights.
That said, I was quite disappointed by the structure of the 7-course tasting menu. While the flavors were good, the courses weren’t served as expected. The first three dishes arrived all at once, which made the experience feel rushed and more like a shared meal than a carefully paced tasting.
What stood out most was the way the main course was presented. Instead of receiving individual portions — something you’d naturally expect in any restaurant, especially when paying for a full tasting menu — we were served just three large plates of ravioli to be shared among ten people. Earlier dishes followed the same pattern: five r and three plates for the whole group, none of them individually plated.
For the price charged, it’s simply not acceptable that the main course isn’t served individually to each guest. When you pay for a complete tasting menu, you expect both the quality and the structure to reflect that.
I would kindly suggest avoiding the label of a “7-course menu” if the execution doesn’t follow that format, as it creates confusion and misaligned expectations.
Hope the...
