Definitely no recommendation at all. The food market in total is a nice location near the water, often recommended in travel guides. With some seperate stalls offering streed food. Some of them seemed expensive, but quite ok. The "Fish & Chips" indeed was overrun by clients but turned out very disappointing: Had to pay in advance and wait for the number on the receipt. The concept of the whole food market and this particular stall implied to get a "fish & chips" something near that one You would expect in England or Scotland, like a big piece of haddock or cod, dipped in batter and fried.
What we got? For 130DKK per portion (nearly 18€) we got a paper bag with fries (quite ok, but nothing special) and on top one industrially looking exact rectangular shaped piece of fish, smaller than my palm accompanied by a small plastic cup with mushy peas (served cold). Neither quality nor taste nor size of the dish could roughly satisfy us.
And since we ordered two portions, we could prove that this would not be a single 'accident'. Hint: At the "Torvehallerne" near Norreport station we found some freshly made and normal...
