Seldom to you want to go where no one knows your name AND no one is glad you came like the out-of-the-way Kontikibar on a boat.
I would not recommend this place because of the poor service, bland food and the most unwelcoming staff I experienced in Copenhagen. Reading other reviews, it’s pretty clear that this is a local bar that caters to locals and has zero interest in serving tourists like me.
The service was terrible and the food was bland. I can recommend the hummus and bread, but the pesto served along with the hummus was unnecessary. I had the fresh pesto pasta with cherry tomatoes and it was bland. My husband had the fish and chips, same story.
The service sucketh! No one greeted us when we entered the boat. I went up to the bar to ask our reservation (easily made in Google Maps) but first I had to stand in line behind other guests sitting at tables getting their own drinks. The young person behind the bar said he would seat me when he finished with someone else’s order.
We were seated outside on the deck and handed menus in Danish. When the young bartender/server person returned we started asking questions about the menu realizing we didn’t understand Danish, so he apologized, and swapped out menus in English.
The empty hummus appetizer plate was never cleared when our main dishes were served. The server did not return to ask us if we wanted another drink. I got up and went to the bar for a glass of soda water.
The table of 2 local women seated across from us were smoking. One of them was so comfy with her chair pushed away from the table with a blanket on her lap, she prevented anyone else from being seated next to her—the staff did not ask her to move.
There was a lively group of people seated at a table next to the bar when we tried to get someone to notice us. The owner or manager was standing next to this table drinking and smoking and ignoring guests like me and my husband. Her young inexperienced bartender/serves needed help managing very few guests. She was too interested in drinking and smoking to care about...
Read moreA pearl in the big city. This place is amazing. I've been coming here for years. Everything is just perfect. It's a Café by the canals, it's outside, the water brings so much to the atmosphere. Unlike others it's not close to anything else, so it's so quiet.
You have the view of the beautiful Copenhagen Opera House. And if you feel for it, you can even rent a boat and take your food without you and sail out through the canals in a more quiet area of the canals in Copenhagen.
I could go and on. I'm coming back here every summer and I love it. This is by far one of the best hidden places in...
Read moreA lovely place for a quick bite or for a cold beer.
The personal is great: young, fun & international.
They speak very good English (as in most places from Copenhagen) and they greet you with a good vibe.
Food was good, beer was cold and the weather was lovely...a good start for my trip in Copenhagen.
Personal: 5/5 Place: 5/5 Prices: 4/5 a bit high, but decent for Copenhagen: ( 180 dkr - ~25 eur for 2 beers and a plate of fish&chips) Food: 4/5 Drinks: 5/5
