It is difficult to find food in Copenhagen with a good value:taste ratio, and this place definitely hits that sweet spot. It's right near Kongens Nytorv station, or more simply, right behind the marble church, so it's also incredibly convenient to get to, even if you don't know the city very well. Of course, this comes with the downside that it is very, very busy, so make sure you put in your bookings at least one day in advance! The food there was superb - my favourite was a starter of beef tartare (better than the one I had in Paris), which was served with green peaches and plenty of sour elements to negate the fattiness of the beef. The chicken main was a little dry, but the dessert of some raspberry concoction or other was definitely interesting and I'm very glad I tasted it, though I'm not entirely sure what it may have been... The menu is seasonal, I hear, but if you get the chance to try the beef, GO FOR IT.
Service is slow, but when we did get our waiter's attention, he was very friendly and engaged with us in playful banter whenever he came around. It definitely fits the eternal Danish requirement of being hyggeligt, with chatter and soft lighting and comfortable seating everywhere, so if you have some disposable income, I'd highly...
Read moreVery bad, slow and rude service. We visited as a group of 15 people and had to order all of our food in advance. Even though all food was pre-ordered, we had to wait until after the starters were served to order drinks and throughout the entire evening, we had to hand each other our drinks and plates, since the waiters simply stopped at the head of the table and handed everything to the people sitting there (same procedure with getting the plates off the table again).
At the end, the final bill showed very different prices for the dishes than what we expected from the menu we were given to pre-order, some dishes were 75% higher, which is more than we expected as daily differences. After complaining about the unexpected prices on the bill, we were informed that it was, in fact, our responsibility to ask beforehand what the specific "dagens pris" is and that nothing more can be done. All in all a very...

It was an extremely hot evening. The windows barely open. When we asked to open them more the reply was no. We can't there are tables outside. Even though no one was sitting there.
The place was a sauna.
The wait for drinks and food was extremely long.
The staff started friendly but I'm guessing the heat got to them too.
The food was chicken chips snacks and lobster on toast. The sauce was watery and made the bread wet.
Steak for the main course. It was not a great cut and difficult to cut using a steak knife. There was also a large chunk of fat which I couldn't eat. And I eat everything.
Cheese for dessert. That was nice. E different cheeses.
The water for the table did not have ice cubes so it was warm water.
It was a hot, long and unpleasant...
