Punk Royale — Restaurant in Copenhagen Municipality

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Punk Royale and I have to say, it was an absolutely fantastic experience. The atmosphere was lively and inviting, with a great mix of vintage and modern decor. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always making sure we had everything we needed.

One of the highlights of my visit was definitely the drinks menu. Punk Royale has a fantastic selection of craft cocktails and a wide range of local and international beers, but the highlight was definitely their extensive gin collection. The bartenders are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their gin selection and they were able to recommend several great options based on my preferences. The drinks were expertly made and absolutely delicious.

The food was also delicious, with a menu that featured a great mix of classic and contemporary dishes. The focus is on fresh, seasonal and local ingredients, and the dishes were beautifully presented. The prices were also very reasonable for the quality of the food and drinks.

Overall, Punk Royale offers a unique and exciting dining and drinking experience. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the food and drinks are absolutely delicious. Extremely bad service and low value for money

The service has straight-out awful - they spend much more time trying to act cool and have good time with their colleagues than providing a good service to their customers. - they spoke so fast and sloppy in Swedish that even our guests with Swedish origin had a hard time understanding what the food consisted of.

A couple of our guests had dietary restrictions, but instead of accommodating these they at several occasions made fun of it and refuse to answer when asked if each of the dishes contained these ingredients.

Their webpage clearly states “Food & Drinks - 995 DKK” but despite this fact we ended paying 1250 DKK per person, without any of us knowing why this was the case – we were not at any point confronted with any nominal additions to the price. – the price/quality ration might work in other cites but in Copenhagen it is far off, there are much better alternatives in the area where the food is far better and cheaper and were the service is of a much higher standard. (for instance, Pluto, Cantina, Pastis, Geist or Bistro Boheme)

The experience itself is one of a kind, I doubt you would be able to find another restaurant that combines raving, novel way of serving food and copious amount of drinks as well as Punk Royale. It is definitely worth a try and could be the perfect dinner before a night out because by the time you are done with dessert you are definitely drunk.

The food was delicious as you would expect with such price tag. However, what actually stood out is the way it is served and no, I do not mean beautiful plating… sometimes you are fed by the waiter, sometimes you eat with your hands and overall very little cutlery is used.

The drinks… well they leave something to be desired. Though there is no lack of alcohol the shots you are given are definitely from the cheapest vodka and tequila which quite frankly takes away from the experience… hence the 4 stars.
