I’m not giving one star because I saw how much effort the manager (chef/owner) put into making all customers happy despite the many miscommunications that occurred during our dinner. The billing experience at the end was a major disaster for this rating.
The two servers seemed unprofessional and frequently deferred to the manager for any questions, often standing around waiting for him instead of attending to other tables.
We initially intended to order two soups of the day, two main dishes, one drink, and possibly a dessert. The server mentioned that the soup portions were pretty big. I asked if we could share one soup and get an extra bowl. She responded affirmatively before I finished my question, so I assumed it wouldn’t be an issue. I also asked if they provided tap water when I ordered a drink. She said no, they only offered still or sparkling water for a charge.
When the manager brought the soup without an extra bowl, I asked about it. He immediately responded that they didn’t have that. He would bring one if they have. He asked if I believe that. He was doing his best to make us happy. However, he did bring us an extra soup bowl within 1-2 minutes…, and also offered tap water…, which was the same as provided to other tables.
We had the seafood pasta and truffle veal fillet. Both dishes were comforting but slightly too salty and not mixed evenly. Restaurant was cozy atmosphere with painting on the wall. It was crowded before and after our meals, guests around us all ordered different meals, indicating most of the dishes should be good.
We were ready to order dessert. I asked if the tiramisu was pre-made, and if the powder could be omitted. I asked if the powder contained cocoa or chocolate. The server took 5-7 minutes to check and came back without an answer. He finally told me it contained cocoa and asked if that was okay. I said no, I didn’t need the dessert then. He then told me they could make it without the powder as it wasn’t pre-made… Nevertheless, it came with chocolate syrup all over the plate. The server told me it was just decoration… I doubted if I made myself clear or if he lacked common sense.
The manager brought me a new tiramisu without any cocoa, saying that dessert was on the house. Obviously, that tiramisu was much smaller than the previous one and the one I saw at the table next to us. He also offered me an espresso. I didn’t need it but appreciated his effort to make guests happy.
Finally, the billing issue: the bill was 681 DKK, and I used Apple Pay. The machine showed 707.49 DKK. When I questioned this, the manager quickly processed the payment and handed me a receipt showing 681 DKK. However, 707.49 DKK was charged to my card. After a long wait, the manager explained that the additional amount was tax, though 25% tax was already included in the 681 DKK. I asked if I could see what was posted on their machine. I just wanted to clarify to ensure there was no extra charge from my bank or fraud from their system. He insisted it was the tax and finally agreed to show me on the computer. It was 707.49 DKK on their record! I asked if I could have another copy of a receipt showing that amount. He said no, everything is legal, and offered to pay me the 26 DKK difference (most likely in cash), or he could call the police. He kept complaining that I was pressuring him, not understanding that he was pressuring me by saying that and threatening to call the police.
I’ve never seen a receipt that wasn’t allowed to list all the details and end with the correct amount. He even yelled, "Please never call again." When I asked the server for my jacket, he was still like, "What do you want?!"
Some people don’t even read the receipt or care about the allergies. I guess I was just having bad luck to experience three mistakes in one dinner, but their communication and management system definitely caused all...
Read moreWell, the whole thing was a disaster. There were two waiters for the night, and sadly we seemed to draw the one with no memory and unable to write! We ordered our starter, mains, wine and asked for some water. After a few minutes he came back with bread and oil/balsamic, and water. Then we waited a while for our starter, which was fine. But really how can you mess up a slice of bread with a slice of cheese and ham with half a cherry tomato!! He returns, because we have no cutlery or plates, and brings the wine and glasses, but didn’t have a corkscrew 🤯 Then, after a while he brings our mains, mine is correct but the other isn’t. Deep apologies, it will be 3-4 minutes for the correct order. By the time it turns up, I’ve eaten my meal, which for a chicken tagliatelle, well, I’ve had more chicken in a ham sandwich!!! Thankfully, my wife’s lasagna was fine, but really how can you mess this up, but surely you could say that about chicken pasta. After all this, the waiter offered us a ‘free coffee’!!! Maybe this was a bad night, but frankly this is simple food, I can’t understand how you can do it this poorly. And then, as a recompense you offer a ‘free coffee. We got a free Bailey’s and an Amaretto, but frankly we only took them to appease the numpty waiter. Probably won’t be back in Copenhagen again, but definitely wouldn’t...
Read moreTitle: "A Culinary Journey to Italy!"
Review: I recently had the pleasure of dining at this Italian gem, and I must say, it was nothing short of a gastronomic voyage to Italy itself! From the moment I stepped in, the cozy ambiance transported me to a charming Italian trattoria.
The menu was a symphony of flavors, and every dish was a masterpiece. The homemade pasta, cooked to perfection, melted in my mouth, and the rich, savory sauces were a testament to culinary artistry. The shrimp was absolutely delicious. The lamb chop and risotto was to die for. The flavors were so authentic that it felt like an Italian nonna was working her magic in the kitchen.
The attentive and knowledgeable staff made the experience even more delightful, recommending the perfect wine pairings and ensuring that every detail was attended to. The whole evening was a sensory delight, from the aromatic scents wafting from the kitchen to the impeccable presentation of each dish.
In short, this is not just a restaurant; it's a love letter to Italian cuisine. I can't wait to return and continue this culinary journey. If you're seeking the best Italian food outside of Italy, look no further – this place is a...
