Nino Sandwich Shop — Restaurant in Giza

Nino was the absolute best! Such a gem to find him in Cairo as we were wandering around looking for somewhere to eat. He invited us into his shop and supplied us with complimentary tea and water as we waited for our sandwiches. He was so nice and welcoming to us, even though it was quite late at night.

The sandwiches were great! The chicken especially was very good, but everything was wonderful! Nino talked with us as we ate, and when we paid (with some extra for tip) he was so gracious and packed up two more sandwiches for us on the road.

The experience was amazing, as well as the food, and I would HIGHLY recommend anyone to check out this shop. We enjoyed it so much that we asked Nino if we could take a picture with him to remember his kindness. Please please go if in the area, and let him know there is love for him...

MUST stop here if you’re in the area! It was close to our Airbnb, so it was easy for us to walk here. The host is incredibly hospitable! We each got his “Nino chicken sandwich”, which he offers that if you don’t like it, it’s free. The sandwich is very tasty! As soon as you sit, he brings free cold water and hibiscus tea. Also, with the sandwich you get vegetables and chips. After eating, he brings a small sweet desert type sandwich that was really interesting, in a good way. This sandwich shop is a popular spot frequently visited by Japanese tourists. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel very comfortable. It seems that their signature phrase is, "If it's not delicious, you don't need to pay!"

We had the sandwich set priced at 150 Egyptian Pounds (EGP). It came with water, tea, fruits, salad, and chips. True to the reviews, the sandwiches were absolutely delicious!

By ensuring all prices are transparent and fair, foreign visitors would feel much more at ease and able to fully enjoy their dining experience. Even if the prices are adjusted for foreign tourists, having them clearly stated upfront would not be an issue. Honest and transparent dealings would help reduce stress and make our travels in Egypt more enjoyable.
