We had a chaotic arrival but everything afterwards was wonderful. The owner and the staff made our stay in Cairo really pleasant. We had the suite with jacuzzi and 2 more rooms as we were 5 people traveling. The staff is wonderful and goes above and beyond to make you feel confortable, I would put more stars if possible for them and the food (Egyptian breakfast is wonderful and they make delicious Falafels)! They really help you if you have questions about your trip or even local customs. A special thanks to Nour who came with us to visit some places and helped us a lot. The location is really well placed although you might be surprised by the constant noise of the city and on the road which never :) stops. About the rooms, due to travel agency mistake we had to spend the 1st night in an economic room which was not so great for the noise mostly. Some improvement could be done in the more economical rooms, but the rooms above and the suite are really nice and the staff came to clean them (remember, 3 rooms) everyday. I am sure in the following months the hotel will make huge improvements of their rooftop and hopefully the more economical rooms as well and they will grow to be a more amazing hotel. About the safety around, we did not feel threaten at all, we felt quite secure but we definitely asked the staff on how we should behave to avoid all troubles. And it worked. Anyway, if we come back to Cairo we will hopefully go to this hotel again. Thank you The Palace Pyramids Hotel for the Egyptian...

We came from the USA and booked The Palace Pyramids Hotel based on the photos and positive listing. Unfortunately, the reality was a major letdown.
The room we were given was tiny — nothing like what was advertised online. It barely fit one person comfortably on the bed. Everything felt dirty and poorly maintained, especially the bathroom, which was stained, smelly, and clearly not cleaned properly.
There are multiple steep staircases throughout the property, and none of this was shown or mentioned online. It felt unsafe and especially difficult to navigate with luggage.
The surrounding neighborhood is also not safe, especially at night. As foreign visitors, we felt extremely uncomfortable and did not feel secure staying there.
We decided to leave the hotel the same night and book another place, even though it was late and inconvenient — that’s how uncomfortable we felt.
Also, beware of Ahmed, who tried to charge us outrageous prices for simple taxi rides (up to $50 for a short trip to a nearby restaurant). After speaking with locals, we realized we were being taken advantage of simply because we were tourists. When we expressed our concerns, he refused to offer any help or refund.
Overall, this place was a complete waste of money and a stressful experience. The listing is deceptive, the service is dishonest, and the location feels unsafe. We strongly recommend booking...
Read moreWe are travelers from the USA and booked The Palace Pyramids Hotel based on photos from Google and Expedia – but the reality was completely different. This hotel is absolutely nothing like the pictures online.
The rooms are tiny, barely fitting one person on a bed, and they were very dirty – the bathrooms were brown and filthy.
There are many steep stairs, which were not shown in any photos. It is not comfortable or safe, especially if you have luggage or mobility issues.
We felt completely unsafe in the surrounding area, especially at night – it is not suitable for tourists, and definitely not safe for Americans.
We ended up leaving immediately around midnight after lookinh at the hotel and booked a different hotel just to feel safe.
Avoid Ahmed at all costs – he communicated with us via WhatsApp before we even arrived. He quoted us $30-$50 USD for a taxi ride to an Indian restaurant, which we later found out was extremely overpriced. Locals in Cairo told us he was scamming us just because we were tourists. When we asked for a refund after leaving the hotel due to these issues, he refused.
If you care about safety, comfort, and honesty – do NOT book this hotel or use their taxi services. Honestly, you’d be better off staying in a tent by the Nile than...
