Excellent example of tourist trap. Restaurant/bistro is maybe bit cheaper than other overpriced city center tourist traps, but it's not good anyway. During our visit there were only Mexican, Chinese or Indian tourists/students, who have no idea what is real cooked good food. Pancakes is just cheap and lazy idea how to make enormous profit on 'food' without value. Thick dough and little filling inside. Filling made of cheap ingredients and it's tasteless. We have pancakes of similar quality in our capital, aim on students and elderlies and it's more tasty. And price for one pancake isn't 6-7€, but 0,5-1€ per pancake, which is extreme difference. Only reason why I give this place 2 stars was decent Seljanka soup and friendly staff. Sweet pancake was blend, boring and too sweet. I absolutely don't recommend this place to tourists, or somebody who wants to try good local cousins with good price. You get cheap thick international pancake that only make you feel uncomfortably full and you pay a lot. I have visit around 20 restaurants during the trip across Estonia and this one was second worst. Most of my reviews are 4 or 5 stars, but here I...
Read moreThis has been one of my favourite places to eat in Tallinn for many many years! It's been around a long time and has only been getting better with the years (if that's even possible)! I love the pancakes here and there are sooooo many savoury as well as sweet pancakes to choose from! My personal favourites are the smoked salmon and cheese, and the raspberry condensed milk pancakes. Yum! But they're all tasty! To be honest, even the pancake without any topping is tasty! One pancake is an entire meal as they fill it with so much! I also love their garlic bread snacks - very well done! If you have any dietary needs, let them know and they will most likely help you out! For example I've been there with people who are lactose intolerant and they kindly offered to use lactose free milk to make the pancake. They have a really friendly and casual interior design and the people who work there have always been very nice and pleasant. I wholeheartedly recommend this place for any meal, any time, any occasion. I can only hope that this place continues to stay as awesome as it is! Thank you...
Read morePub Kompressor is a bar, café and pancake restaurant. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and the place was really busy at that time. A sign at the entrance told the guests to wait at the entrance to be seated, but the staff was too busy to seat anyone so everyone just went and found a free table when they got tired of waiting and saw someone leaving.
The orders are made at the bar and people made their way there when they saw everyone else doing so too. The line at the bar was quite long and moved slowly as the staff took the orders, prepared the drinks and took payments at the same time.
After surviving all the waiting hassle, payment etc. the waiting time for the pancakes was about 20 minutes. The pancake with tomato, feta and pesto filling was good as well as the one with herring filling.
The staff was doing splendid considering how under-staffed the place was and the amount of guests there were at the same time. Given the good food and nice interior, with adequate staffing this could easily be a...
