LA FRUITIERE — Restaurant in Bonneville

The welcome is typically francais. It’s a bit of a rabbit Warren of a place and the staff stare rather than show you the way. The food is pretty OK. It’s correct but unimaginative. The pork chop was just a lump of meat with a few spuds - no sauce on offer, just a small jug of jus. We had just finished the mains when they asked us to move out to the corridor for the desserts so we passed and had a drink on the terrace instead. We were given bread, bread sticks and olive oil, however no side plate to enjoy them. Main course was ordered and arrived within 5 minutes. Not normally a complaint however no time to enjoy the bread. Entertainment would have been good if the singer had sung more than two songs. Overall a pour experience, definitely wouldn't return to this restaurant. On a plus we ordered steak rare and it came as expected in France...

Inside La Folie Douce hotel, this restaurant serves excellent dishes, French-inspired, well executed. They have a second restaurant, Mayen, focused on local Alpine dishes.

Wine list is extensive, and all dishes we tried were worth recommending. The atmosphere is festive and you can also enjoy a drink before in the bar area (and its shows), or play snooker afterwards.
