Terrible Experience at Beach Club Annex

I’m extremely disappointment with the service we received at the establishment on 15-06-2024. My friend and I called several days prior to inquire if we needed a reservation. We were told that reservations were not necessary as long as we arrived between 10 and 10:30 AM.

Following this advice, we arrived at the reception around 10:30 AM, where two ladies asked if we had a reservation. We explained that we did not, and they informed us that the manager would assist us shortly. While waiting, a group of five people arrived without a reservation as well. The receptionists asked them which hotel they were staying at, and suggested that their concierge might make a reservation for them. They replied with the name of a simple hotel, and the receptionists again asked them to wait for the manager.

When the manager arrived, the first thing he did was assist the group of five who arrived after us, speaking to them in Russian, even though they were not Russian. He immediately escorted them to a spot, despite their lack of a reservation. When it was finally our turn, he asked if we had a reservation, and when we said no, he told us there was no place available for us. We questioned why the other group, who also had no reservation, were given a spot. The manager arrogantly lied, stating that they were staying at the Carlton Hotel in Cannes and their concierge had already made a reservation for them.

I was utterly shocked by the level of arrogance, dishonesty, and lack of service. As someone who has traveled the world and visited many beautiful and luxurious places, I have never encountered such poor treatment. The experience at Beach Club Annex was the worst I have ever had and I will for sure not recommended Annex to anyone.

Annex regrettably stands out as one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've encountered in recent memory. The evening began with a rather dubious attempt to charge us for four additional drinks we never ordered. This kind of error, met with an indifferent response from the staff, speaks volumes about the establishment's approach to customer service.

The state of the restrooms was nothing short of appalling. Encountering excrement on the walls is an egregious violation of basic hygiene and cleanliness standards, and it reflects a startling neglect of fundamental maintenance practices.

Service at Annex was practically non-existent. Our waiter, who was rarely seen, took an inordinate amount of time to take our order and then disappeared entirely when it was time to pay. This level of inattentiveness is unacceptable and greatly detracted from our overall experience.

The ambiance was nice, altough catering primarily to the most numerous of visitors - Russians and Arabs. This does little to enhance its already tarnished reputation and certainly does not appeal to high-standard Swiss like myself (who are usually dressed head to toe in Brunello Cucinelli)

In summary, Annex fails to deliver on multiple fronts. The combination of questionable billing practices, deplorable hygiene, lackluster service, and an unappealing atmosphere makes it a place I cannot recommend.
