The worst food and experience we had in Paris. A server didn’t show up with menus for over 20 minutes. Someone only showed up after I asked a different server (who immediately brought in menus for a new group who came after us) if there was anyone assigned to our table. Once our order was taken, the food came with in minutes. However every single server was trying to give our food to the next table. I had duck confit which was so dry. The hot chocolate was the most terrible. Wasn’t even mixed in and tasted really bad. The fish and chips were ‘horrible’ according to my teen who order fish and chips often and ‘yummy’ according to my 8yr old who was very hungry. My husband had a rump stake that he too commented as ‘not very good’. They gave him an ice tea bottle without opening the bottle cap. When he asked the server if he could please open it, the server asked him to use his teeth (not as a joke). He refused and then only did the server brought in a bottle opener. Often every restaurant we go to, the server open the bottle and pour a glass. Every other restaurant we went to had great food and friendly and timely service so this one stood out like...

I really enjoyed my french early dinner here . I server was Sarah and she was excellent and made me comfortable .She helped me decide what to eat and gave me time because I got full and took a break. I wanted to order everything frenchy so I had the onion soup which was very good . I tried the escargot which were not bad they had a basil paste on them and were a little on the salty side but not too much. I ended up ordering the salad with the goat cheese which was very flavorful and creamy the cheese . The salad dressing was very good also . For dessert I ate the chocolate cake it came with a scope of vanilla ice cream it was light and not too sweet for chocolate cake . I really enjoyed everything from the atmosphere to the place itself had a warm feeling the energy was good upstairs they had a comedian and during my early dinner the place got busy because I got here early. I made some food video on how to get the escargot out of the shell . Its on my instagram if anyone is curious . I highly recommend...

Delicious food and good service.

I loved how affordable the flank steak was.

Maybe it was the exhaustion from riding the Eurostar all day or what, but the Bistrot's flank steak was delicious. They were generous with the portions of fries as well! There was so many fries that I couldn't finish it all.

Servers were very attentive as well!

The French Onion Soup is pretty much standard wherever you are in the world now, but it's still delicious.

What stood out the most for me was the goat cheese salad. We don't get anything close to this in the Philippines.

My only concern is the stairs where we were seated. There's a set of stairs that leads to the basement and we had to be very careful not to trip. Thankfully there is a small gate that marks the steps.

But I understand why the place had to maximize the space in Paris. The stairs did not ruin my experience at all. :D

I would definitely recommend Bistrot du Jardin for people coming to Paris.

Affordable and...

We went to the restaurant after arriving from the airport. The friendly server asked us if we were there to eat or just drink. We were seated inside and given menus to look over. We ordered wine and a few items to try. The French Onion soup had lot cheese and richness. Unfortunately it was not served hot. The cheese was melted but the soup was just warm. The frog legs were done well and spiced just right. The duck confit was perfect. The escargots delicious. We ended the night with crème brûlée and an apricot tart. Both were very yummy and had just the right sweetness. The atmosphere was very good and service excellent!

We found the place by chance but it was a good choice. The duck with potatoes was very tasty and the baked camember was also good if you are into french cheeses. We got two appetizers, one main dish, one salad and 3 glasses of wine. We paid around 65 euros, which is very ok for Paris. The staff was very friendly, the atmosphere of the place was cozy but it was packed with tables everywhere. On the 1st floor, they also host comedy nights.
