I can’t say I’m an expert on Vietnamese food, but I do know good food in general. Brasserie Saigon was absolutely the best Vietnamese food I have ever had. The first dish I had was the mango salad which was amazing blend of textures and flavors (that will be a common theme). The preparation of the veggies was very well done with a perfect julienne, and I loved the sweet and savory combination of the dish. The fresh mango mixed with the fried onions was so pleasing. My entree was a combination style bowl with shrimp, vermicelli noodles, and fried spring rolls which again was an amazing combination of flavors and textures. The fresh herbs along with the caramelized, almost charred onions brought everything together so well. The shrimp were even prepared so the only portion of the shell remaining was the very tip of the tail. A small detail that I don’t think I’ve ever seen before but I really appreciated it. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone if I get the chance. The staff was also very pleasant and helpful. I do feel like the atmosphere could be a little warmer, but I wouldn’t hesitate to stop in and enjoy the...
Read moreAbsolutely superb! Located a short walk from Paris Montparnasse railway station, my wife and I wanted to eat early (16:15) so stopped by this brasserie. The welcome was very warm. We were the only diners there so got a lot of attention and were able to sit next to the window to people watch as we ate. The food was incredibly tasty and presented very well. We had beef with onions and pork with caramel in a very savoury soup. Both dishes were wonderful. The wine was reasonably priced (for Paris) and as expected, the service was perfect. We would highly recommend the Flan Thaï for desert. Deliciously light with coconut milk that we shared. We rounded things off with their own Irish coffee - wow!!! We were then treated to a digestive on the house. The team took time to talk to us and were such lovely people. We would highly recommend this restaurant for great value, great taste and great people. We noted that local Vietnamese people also ate here so that shows just how good it is.
Absolument superbe !
Read moreHad dinner here during our vacation in Paris. The food came out incredibly fast, fresh, hot, crispy, and most importantly DELICIOUS! I’m a first-gen vietnamese person who grew up in a large melting pot of viet immigrants in Houston, TX. The food here was really good!
Our waiter was very patient with our large group and as I mentioned earlier, the items came out soon after we submitted our order. The prices were a bit high, but honestly it’s worth it. The restaurant feels nicer than other places nearby.
The clay pot pork tasted just as my mom makes it, the banh CEO was crispy yet soft, and the spring rolls were really fresh.
We’ll be stopping by again...
