This was a happy accident as our originally planned recommended restaurant from Rick Steves wasn’t open yet so we went with google reviews and ate dinner here instead. Rag (he spelled it for us this way but it’s pronounced Rahj) was our server and I think is the owner and couldn’t have been more delightful. He was so kind and witty! He’s lived in France for many years and it sounded like his family is from Sri Lanka. He had just decorated the interior and exterior with many roses (silk but a very good takeout) like a week before in addition to the nautical knots. It wasn’t busy at first when we arrived but then a tour group of high schoolers came in for a bit to order a bunch of crepes to go. Rag (Raj?) was so good at keeping his cool as it suddenly got so busy! The food was quite delicious (we did a prix fixe 3-course option that was very reasonably priced). What a treat to just decide on a whim on a place and love...
Read moreA beautiful sidewalk café. The views are very nice. I started my meal with the snails, which were the best I had in Paris. The right size with a beautiful garlic pesto sauce. Nice presentation. The wine was nice, a well chilled Chardonnay, and very competitively priced. After this, it went downhill quickly. I ordered a galette with beef and onions and cheese. What I got was a whole wheat crêpe (weird), basically folded up on the sides to resemble a galette with a hamburger patty on top and some grilled onions underneath with cheese. Not what I expected, and one of the more Mundane meals I’ve ever had in Paris. The salad that came with it was a few slices of tomato and some lettuce, which was brown on the edges, and clearly very old. Disappointed in the finale of the meal. Probably wouldn’t...
