Was excited to try Don’t Yell At Me, but left disappointed. This spot usually has a line outside, so I was curious to see what the hype was about—especially since it’s a chain and I’ve seen one in Toronto too. The drinks are huge and the menu has variety, but unfortunately the matcha didn’t live up to expectations. It had vanilla and sugar syrup added, which made it overly sweet and masked the actual matcha flavour. It ended up tasting quite sickly, which isn’t how matcha should be—unless you’re using low-quality powder and trying to cover the taste.
Also, the packaging is a major red flag. Everything was plastic—from the cup to the lid to the straw—which felt really off, especially in a city like Paris where there are so many more sustainable options. The bottle design also made it tricky to drink from.
