I tried this restaurant with my 12 year old daughter after a weekend visiting Paris. We meant to go to the restaurant opposite but accidentally went into this one after a mistake on google maps. This was our last night in Paris and we were hoping to have a lovely evening meal. What a terrible experience it turned out to be! We were sat down in a very crowded section of the terrace, even though there were a number of other empty tables available in quieter parts. We don’t speak French but try to make an effort and speak the basic vocabulary we know. A waiter approached our table and asked us in French if we were having a drink only or food. I asked him to repeat because I didn’t understand the question. He then became extremely rude and patronising, humiliating us in front of other customers, shouting and gesturing at us very sarcastically saying “DO YOU WANT TO EAT?! “ I got the feeling that other French customers were used to foreigners being humiliated in this way, and became increasingly uncomfortable. This is the point we should have walked out, but we made the fatal mistake of ordering the ridiculously overpriced food. He slammed down our drinks onto the table, including my daughter’s apple juice, to be rude to an adult is one thing, but to be that rude to a child is inexcusable, whatever their nationality, when she was behaving impeccably. This waiter then walked off and never came back to us. We received our food from a different waiter, who was serious and unfriendly. The food was disgusting, my daughter‘s chicken was undercooked, and my omelette was dry and bland, the fries were also floppy and tasteless. The shocking behaviour from the waiter and the humiliation he had caused completely spoiled our dinner and left us unable to eat it. We asked for the bill, having barely touched our food, it came to nearly €60, which is absurd considering the food and service we had received, we couldn’t get out of there fast enough, and we were really upset by the experience. If you are going to work in hospitality, you should be able to be kind and respectful to all customers. Reading the reviews of this restaurant has made me realise that the issues we experienced had also happened to other customers, and whilst they acknowledge every review, they are clearly not addressing the issue. This is the worst restaurant experience I have ever had in my life. We were made to feel very judged for being British, and I would stay well clear if you aren’t French, you would not...

My wife and I just finished a meal at this restaurant after a day of sightseeing throughout Paris. It looked nice and we had a front row outdoor table.

The service was absolutely horrendous. The server name on our bill was Areski G.

First, we waited quite a long time to have our table cleaned and menu provided (it wasn't very busy). When we finally received our food, my wife asked for a 2nd glass of wine, and after that, our waiter completely disappeared and never came back. He forgot to bring the wine, never came back to check on us throughout the meal, never offered us additional drinks or desserts, and never cleared our dirty plates. We had to get another waiter to bring my wife her 2nd glass of wine and had to ask him to clear our table of dirty dishes.

When the other waiter dropped the wine on the table, he also dropped the bill at the same time. How did he know that we wouldn't want another drink, or coffee, or dessert? None of this was offered - we felt completely rushed to leave the restaurant and very disrespected. When I went inside the restaurant to pay the bill, our first waiter was sitting in a corner eating his lunch. It was laughable to see him relaxing while our table was covered in dirty dishes.

Truly, this was the worst service at any restaurant we've had since arriving to Paris. I wish I had read the reviews for this restaurant prior to sitting down, because many people agree that the food and the service are not good.

I cannot recommend this restaurant until they fix their service issues. Therefore, I wholeheartedly suggest you find a different place to spend your hard...

Disgusting service. My friend and I came to get a glass of wine. When we asked for an ashtray, the waiter dismissively called us smokers. Em what? Very rude ! There were a lot of people smoking around us btw. Then we ordered dessert, but my dessert was not brought to me, apparently they forgot. I had to ask second time. We took another glass, but did not have time to finish our drink as the waiter lashed out and impatiently wanted us to pay, practically kick us out. Although there were other people around us. He came up while we were smoking. And told me in very evil manner : girl you smoke in my face! And what was I supposed to do, put out the cigarette once he came up? Why did you have to come up at that moment and not two minutes later if you don't like cigarette smoke? It was very rude and out of time. Moreover, the waiter insisted on a higher tip, although we did not want to pay that much. He just took advantage of the fact that we were confused by such rudeness and did not know what to say. Then I went to the toilet and the waiter scolded my friend for smoking. This person literally ruined our evening. I don’t know why the attitude was so terrible , maybe because we are not French and we were speaking different language. However we spoke with the servant in French. Terrible, beyond normal. Do not come, do not pay...

This is one of the last remaining authentic family owned brasseries in Paris. The food is typical brasserie style dependable and available all day long. My personal favourites are choucroute, sole meunière, steak tartare and poulet but their daily special is always worth a try. One of the few places where both tourists and regulars of all generations come and have a nice time. They are specially welcoming to rugby fans and magnanimous when France is not winning. One of the best terraces in Paris. Come early if you want to secure a spot.m

The waiters are efficient but not friendly. They will seat you in the back quarter of the restaurant. They will take your order, bring your wine/beer and food, and leave you alone. They will respond to a respectful hail. The smash burger is one of the best my husband has ever had. He returns (5xs now) because it’s consistently delicious. My salad of the day is just fine. Go for the burger and a slice of old Paris. We’ll be back, for sure!
