This used to be our favorite restaurant whenever we came to Paris. In fact, we would eat there multiple times per visit. Because of Covid, it had been 3 years since our last visit and we could hardly wait to have dinner once again at La Solita Taverna. Unfortunately our experience last week was very disappointing. We ordered our usual Caprese Salad and pizza. The salad always came on a bed of super fresh arugula. This time no arugula, just spring mix, most of which was old and spoiled and couldn't be eaten. And no basil! We always said the pizza there was the best ever, but not this time. They were very skimpy on the toppings, the crust wasn't as good as it used to be and it was left in the oven a bit too long. I asked the manager if we could have some parmesan cheese (a bunch of containers of it were sitting right next to me on a shelf) for the pizza, and he said no, the pizza already had cheese on it, and the parmesan was for pasta only!! The other manager who was always on duty on previous visits (and sadly wasn't there last week) went out of his way to accommodate guests. Overall we were...

Maybe it was just an "off" night for the kitchen, but the vegetable soup consisted of a lukewarm watery broth with raw potatoes! I mentioned this to the server as he took the bowl away, and he offered no apology. The pasta arrabiatta consisted of overcooked penne swimming in a flavorless sauce. When I went to pay the bill, I noticed I was charged for the inedible soup And mention this to the server who conferred with the manager. No, said they, I would have to pay for it as the bill had already been issued! They did however offer me a coffee or dessert on the house which I respectfully declined, as I wanted nothing more than to make...
