After dragging my 6 year old son all over Paris to experience the art of Dali, Toulouse-Lautrec and Van Gogh he was STARVING. I pulled out my handy Yelp app and my Google map which led me (after a few wrong turns on my part) to this restaurant. My Google map was accurate but I didn’t understand, then realized the restaurant is on a triangular corner. The sign is a bit hidden but I loved the way the vines cover the entrance like you are entering a secret space. The restaurant is what I expected of a French bistro and the waitress was lovely. What I learned about the French is if you attempt to speak their language they are really nice. I speak a very little French and was able to get great service at every restaurant. I don’t recall a tremendous amount of vegetarian options but my son and I both had the French onion soup and I had a glass of champagne. The soup was the best I’ve ever had and the champagne was the perfect accompaniment. I would definitely recommend this restaurant but will say it is a bit on the pricey side but we were on vacation so the price didn’t matter. For a date night or special lunch with friends it would be perfect. Oh forgot we had the creme brûlée but didn’t get any pics because it was so delicious we devoured it like...
Read moreLiked this place so much we went twice. We were able to book the cosy window niche for the second visit. Wine is OK value. Food was great. Staff were rushed off their feet but flexible, very friendly and no complaints. Some of the complaints in the reviews are unreasonable. This is a cheap place to eat and of course you will be able to find better if you pay more - but of the 5 places we ate in Paris, this was the best price-quality ratio we found. Starter salads were lovely. Main courses - I think you have to choose carefully and know your way around a menu as I saw some dishes on other tables that I wouldn't personally have been happy with - but the ones we had were fantastic. Went a la carte the second time and chose the foie gras chicken with creamed potatoes, which was fantastic but very filling indeed. TIP...the big menu is not such a good choice unless you were going to order the more expensive dishes, coffee and aperitif anyway - it's cheaper to go a la carte. The more minimal medium menu is limited in options but great value. Highlight n that was the roquefort salad. Toilets are very basic and bring the place down, but it's a charming place. Will...

We started with the onion soup and goat cheese salad, and both fared very well. So did the main courses, as the flavors and portion was apt. Kids loved the pastas and the French toast as desert. Ello, who served us, was the owner himself and was very friendly and warm. The hospitality from him earned him the badge of 'best waiter in Paris' from my sons. A hidden gem and highly...
