A Nightmarish Experience at Le CasseNoix: A Parisian Disappointment
First I’d like to step here that I’m used to eat in the best restaurants all over the world and I’ve been collecting good food memories, this, is what I expected when I booked a night dinner at this shameful place.
My visit to Le CasseNoix in Paris was, without a doubt, one of the worst dining experiences of my life. From the moment we stepped through the door, everything that could go wrong, did.
Let’s start with the service. We were greeted by a waiter who seemed more interested in ignoring us than in offering any kind of hospitality. His rude demeanor set the tone for the evening, and when we requested a simple change of glass because the one given to us was filthy, he had the audacity to roll his eyes at us. It was as if we had committed some unforgivable offense by asking for basic hygiene standards.
As for the food — it was an absolute letdown. The dishes were bland and uninspired, lacking the flavors and creativity one expects from a restaurant in the heart of Paris. Each bite felt like a chore, as the food failed to engage any of the senses. It didn’t just disappoint — it was forgettable, which is perhaps the worst sin a restaurant can commit.
But the worst part? The 40-euro "reservation fee" per person. When we made the booking, nowhere was it clearly mentioned that this would be added on top of the bill. It wasn’t until we received the check that we discovered this hidden charge, which was not deducted from the final price as we had expected. It felt like a trap — a fee with no clear warning, designed to take advantage of unsuspecting diners.
All of this left me with a profound sense of frustration and regret. Le Casse Noix was a complete waste of time and money, and I would strongly advise anyone visiting Paris to avoid this place at all costs. It’s rare that a dining experience leaves you feeling genuinely insulted, but Le CasseNoix managed to do just that. Save your time and your euros — Paris has far better...

Long Version: Paris isn’t the easiest place to dine, contrary to what many might think. Yes, it’s filled with restaurants—many of which claim to be exceptional—but too often you end up paying an eye-watering amount for food that’s, at best, average. But that was definitely not the case here.
I dined here yesterday with my family, and from start to finish, it was an incredible experience. For a price similar to what we paid at another restaurant recently (where the food was just mediocre), we were treated to a culinary journey that was beyond our expectations. The menu was refreshingly clear and concise, but the flavors and presentation of each dish were anything but simple—they were extraordinary.
None of us knew exactly what to expect, so we each ordered something different, and not a single dish disappointed. Every bite was a delightful surprise, and you could tell just how much care and creativity went into each plate. Plus, being so close to the Eiffel Tower only added to the charm of the evening.
Not only was the food outstanding, but the service was truly wonderful—attentive, warm, and welcoming. It’s rare to find a place that excels in both food and hospitality, especially in such a tourist-heavy area. A true gem in Paris—a place that lives up to its promises!!! Highly...
Read moreAbsolutely wonderful! I am a pretty “picky” and eater - mostly with meats and how they are cooked. I decided on the mushroom starter. I don’t typically like mushrooms, but oh my god! I ate the entire thing. I guess I do like mushrooms when they are cooked properly! Second, I chose the steak option as my meal. I was extremely nervous to order this, but it ended up being the best steak I’ve ever had. I wish I was exaggerating. And the potatoes!!! I will be back for those alone. My boyfriend ordered his “medium,” and it was more rare than anything. We politely told the waiter and they were so kind and went over and beyond to make a new one that was actually medium. They really didn’t have to do this and they apologized and offered to give us a glass of wine for free. We didn’t accept, but again, this meant a lot to us. Lastly, I had the walnut cookie. Again, absolutely delicious. My boyfriend ordered the fig dessert. He said it was wonderful. We typically don’t eat at nicer places, but this was well worth the money (extremely reasonable for the service and the quality). I have already told others to come here as well. I do wish there was more veggie options on the menu, however I understand that it’s a rotating menu and we had an...
