This place is definitely some way you should visit if you visit Paris
It was completely full of the brim full of local Parisians wanting a great local bistro type of food
We had to wait outside because fortunately the head waiter called us back and said that we would only need to wait about 20 minutes and 20 minutes it was he’d predicted correct we had a couple of drinks on the outside of the restaurant in the freezing cold, but it was well worth the wait.
The food was absolutely incredible
I had a beef dish which looked absolutely phenomenal, but I was having a nosy at all of the other beef dishes that were being delivered to tables and every single beef dish looked delicious I normally go for medium rare, but I would maybe should pick medium in Paris The chips were lovely and salt And the mashed potato was great. The portion sizes are massive. We also had a chicken in white sauce which was also phenomenal.
For dessert, we had the profiteroles if there is only two of you definitely do not get too as they are massive
We didn’t realise until we were sat next to the table from about eight men who said that this place had been nominated as one of the top five bistros in the hall of Paris
I would 100% definitely return to this place if I was back in the area and I’d definitely recommend people should eat in this place if you are looking for a traditional French bistro with amazing food and a great atmosphere every single table was taken and we can...
Read moreWe had dinner yesterday at the place as it was suggested after the Auberege Bressane was full, being part of the group. For a 100EUR per person, the food was good in general, escargot was average, we tasted better at other restaurants, the salad Frisée aus Lardon was tasty and enjoyable, although the Lardon pieces were relatively large. The “cote de Boeuf” on the days menu was tasty, but very fatty and sometimes hard to chew, the two sauces that were served were below average, made in a rush, we liked the haricot vert and mashed potatoes. Our deserts were excellent and the wine bottle was also very well selected. We enjoyed our evening, but we would think before rebooking again, as if we compare the food to a place like Au petit Tonneau or Josephine they are more tasty and at the same price level. Thank you for a...
Read moreFood and service were so far beyond my expectations. Very intimate seating (tables very close to each other) which I found added to the charm ( As dinner progressed, an English speaking couple were seated next to us). Most patrons spoke in French and seemed to know the staff well which leads me to believe that locals frequent this restaurant. It is tight quarters, but it added to the experience. We ate steak, pork with apples, escargot, and artichoke with egg and they were each individually some of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten. We found this place by chance on our first night in Paris and it did not disappoint in any way. Authentic French restaurant. One waiter was somewhat bilingual which helped and a translate app on the IPhone took care of the rest. Highly...
