DO NOT GO HERE!!! I NEVER write bad reviews, NEVER, but this place is an absolute NIGHTMARE and it truly deserves all the bad press. If you're even thinking about going here, I BEG YOU, PLEASE read my comment first WHICH I AM POSTING WITH MY NAME.
I am French and I know when a café or restaurant is trustworthy or not. THE STAFF IS BEYOND HORRIBLE! THEY WILL IGNORE YOU FOR HOURS, WHILE GOSSIPING ABOUT DRAMA BEHIND THE BAR AND DRINKING. I have NEVER experienced service this appalling in my life. You ask for something as simple as bread and butter (a classic French staple), and they roll their eyes at you. If you ask for anything, you WILL be charged for it, no matter how basic. IF ONLY IT WAS JUST TERRIBLE SERVICE… THE FOOD IS A DISASTER – A CULINARY CARNAGE. I ORDERED A "COTE D'AGNEAU FARCI" AND THEY SERVED ME A DISH THAT WAS SO RAW IT WAS STILL BLEEDING. The meat looked like it hadn't even been touched by heat. When I complained, they had the audacity to tell me (this is a translation from French): “No, no, that’s normal, those are just the nerves.”
The meat was so hard, it seemed like they took it straight out of the freezer and just put it on the plate. It was severely undercooked. Desperate and hungry, I sent it back to the kitchen, hoping they would correct the issue. But the entire restaurant started to smell of raw meat—at that point, I thought, okay, maybe now they’ll cook it properly. WRONG. It came back barely more cooked than before, leading me to believe they just threw it in the microwave. This is not just bad cooking—THIS IS DANGEROUS.
To make matters worse, when I went to the bathroom, I saw that they were preparing food based on photos with NO regard for hygiene standards, the tables, cooking plates and floors were disgusting. I was appalled. And as if this wasn’t already a full-blown catastrophe, the second meal arrived with A HAIR IN IT. Yes, A HAIR. You can't make this up! The picture I posted here is from that second, "re-cooked" dish. And when it came time to pay, they STILL had the nerve to ask me for money. I had to make a SCENE for them to even begin to understand how this was completely UNACCEPTABLE.
SCANDALOUS!!! This place is being kept alive by social media hype alone, and it’s NOTHING but a disaster. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND RUN AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS YOU CAN. It’s not worth a single penny of your money or a second of your...
Read moreDuring my study abroad in Paris, I came here every morning for a latte, and it quickly became one of the highlights of my time in the city. Adjusting to Paris wasn’t easy for me, especially since I knew very little French, but the gentleman who served me each morning made me feel so welcome. Our brief exchange of “ça va?” became something I looked forward to every single day. It was simple, but it meant so much. His kindness and those small interactions always brightened my mornings and gave me a sense of comfort and familiarity when I needed it most. Even though it’s been over a year, I still think back to those mornings with a lot of fondness. My only regret is that my last day in Paris happened to be Labor Day, so the café was closed, and I never had the chance to say goodbye or thank him properly. This café will always hold a special place...
Read moreAvoid. Food was terrible! Really wanted to like this place! Was prepared to overlook salty onion soup and the fact no tablecloth was supplied to our table, but ordered Os a Moelle (a favourite) - after a long wait it arrived without toast & salt plus very overcooked so most marrow dried out & fused to bone & inedible. It got cold waiting for toast (how hard is toast?!) so Os removed to kitchen and same dish returned even more overcooked (basically fat) with bread deep soaked/fried in olive oil instead of toast. Tried to eat it (hungry) but basically mouthfuls of fat (server tried to tell me Os à Moelle is meant to be just fat!🙄). Offered a coffee (unwanted) as compensation and still charged for revolting Os à Moelle. Beyond disappointing you're better off in tourist traps...
