Weirdest place ever. My friends and I (three women, all Brazilian) went in and everyone was friendly, brought us our wine and some snacks. Then the waiter came in with some snacks and smells my hand sanitizer and makes some jokes like "it smells good" (my friend had removed her nail polish and applied a new one at the table, we have been traveling and she didn't have a manicure. Maybe he smelled that? But what could he have mistaken it for? Weird indeed). Then, out of nowhere, everyone in the bar (ALL MEN, except for an old lady) starts to look at us and whisper something to each other. Really weird. I went to the bathroom and when I came back, the waiter had brought us the check (without us asking for it, which extremely weird because they do not bring the check before you ask, they let us stay at the table for as long as we want). I thought it was weird and called the waiter back to ask if we had done something wrong, since they brought us the check and made us pay right away. Then they got defensive and said nothing is wrong; but, after this, the old lady came to our table and started to look around and check our table and stared at our handbags (from the outside). Then we asked the other waiter to come and he pretended not to speak decent English as he proceeded to say this is a family bar and normally the owner (maybe the old lady?) likes to meet their clients and who they are with. My friend asked if we were not family friendly and he faked not understanding us, saying he does not have a problem with us. We felt so uncomfortable we had to leave, which we should have done AFTER we scolded them, but we unfortunately do not speak French and we didn't want to ruin our amazing day in Paris. We left as everyone watched us leave, as the pariah they made us be. Hated the experience, would not wish on anyone. I hope they find better approach to non French people because this was weird and uncomfortable as hell. I do not recommend this place to anyone...
