Good argentinian steak, but can be improved.
Being in the mood for a big dinner, I looked for a steakhouse and found Les Grillades de Buenos Aires. The location was super nice; very close to Edgar Quinet metro station.
--- BEEF EMPANADAS (9 EUR) --- The taste of the filling was just what you can expect from an empanada. It was flavourful from various spices used in the mix. The use of egg and olive was interesting. A small comment is that the ground beef was a bit dry, probably because it was too fine. The pastry was buttery and cooked well.
--- FILLET DE BOEUF (34.5 EUR) --- First off, the portion is big. They said the steak was around 200gr but I think it was more than that. They said that the beef came from La Pampa region in Argentina, which may explain the tenderness of this cut. It was lean but easy to chew. One thing that struck me right of the bat was the smoky smell that came out of it. It was intense and very appetizing. I ordered medium and I think it should be cooked just a little bit more. I didn't ask for refiring because it was still acceptable for me. I still enjoyed it.
The outside was missing crust, which would have made it a lot better.
--- SERVICE --- I came without reservation but because I was alone, I could get a table immidiately. Thanks to the lady (english speaking) who willingly accomodated me. The place is not big so I recommend making a reservation beforehand, especially during...
Read moreI chanced upon this place through recommendation from a friend as I was going to Paris for work. It's walking distance from the hotel, I rsvp 3 days before arrival. I was informed on the phone that there were 2 slots either at 7.30 pm or 9.15 pm as they were normally full. I chose 7.30 pm knowing that we had an early start the following day. We were seated promptly, we decided to go straight for the main dishes as we were all tired after our flights. We ordered a sirloin steak each, accompanied with salad and fries. We ordered a beer each. The meat was succulent and delicious. Fries could be better. The Argentinian beer at 3.50€ and 4.50€ were good....all in all we ended up with 30€ per person. We walked out satisfied and happy. Highly recommended if you would like something different from the standard...
Read moreOn our business trip to Paris, we were staying in Paris and were searching for a nice restaurant- for Italian & Indian colleagues. 🥳👍
We found out about this restaurant not too far away from our hotel. We have booked the table in advance. Ambience was good and so is their service plus food varieties. 🥰
Quiet Argentinian by design and decoration. Food is good and so is the wine. We all ordered various varieties of food and it was scrumptious dinner. It was also easy for English speakers like me to order food and my colleagues who were speaking in Italian to the hotel staff. 🍻👏👏
Overall we had a memorable experience in this restaurant with the debut visit to taste the Argentine cuisine. Thank you Les Grillades de Buenos Aires for making this wonderful...
