⛔️⛔️⛔️ Any tourist who doesn’t speak the language may need to steer clear of this place. Aesthetically, from the outside it looks great but once you take a seat, there is a waiter there intent on making things very difficult for you. Knowing I struggle with the language, I went out of my way to be cordial and respectful. In turn all I got was insolence and disrespect. One waiter in particular is the reason for this review. Didn’t get his name but I’m willing to bet he’s the reason for all the other complaints on here about the horrendous service. Waiter didn’t make an effort to understand what I was trying to say. Just made nasty faces and hand gestures. I showed him a pic of what I wanted and still didn’t understand me. In addition, he basically tossed my eating utensils on the table. Took forever to bring me my food. By the time food was at the table it was cold and bland. Not sure if it was because I was upset or it just tasted bad, but I didn’t even finish it. To top things off, waiter tried to pull a stunt on me with the “declined” credit card. I assured him there was money in the card and if it weren’t working it was because of his machine not my card. As expected, the card ran thru with no issues on the second attempt. Sad to see he’s done this to others. I think he does it to embarrass customers he doesn’t like. You’ve been...

a very aggressive service ! One of the worst bar experiences in Paris

We just wanted to enjoy drinks and the euro final with friends. We've been told at the beginning and in a very rude way that we need to take multiple drinks by person. they kept harassing us (and only us) to keep ordering every 30 minutes, it was really weird. And it's not like there is a variety of nice choices, everything is bad / low quality / super mega expensive !!

Staff are super cold but you can say that's the standard in Paris, but there is that one short fella (a living Lord Maximus Farquaad) that seems to be the boss ? very very rude (talking to you like you just took his kingdom, shouting at you, not letting you finishing your sentences, takes the menu out of your hand and the list is long...)

People living in Paris, of course if you "inspect" the place before hand you won't go in and be fooled like us

People not living in Paris and coming for the holidays, avoid this scam if you don't wanna be overcharged and yelled at (good luck tourists of Paris)

little cherry at the top : we were charged additional 2 euros (for the air maybe?). Thankfully we saw it...

This place looked really cozy and the athmosphere was great. This is what originally pulled us into the place.

When looking at the menu, we were surprised by the exuberant prices but assumed it was worth it.

Need less to say how surprised we were our waiter was so unwelcoming, unfriendly and even rude. He came standing 5 feet away with crossed arms asking what we wanted in a very impolite way. I almost had to shout to be heared which made me feel very awkward. He frowned 3 times because he didn’t understood what we wanted. I asked for some information about the menu and wanted to order. We asked for some minor alterations because we had no other options but were told they don’t accomodate request from clients. Strange in a place where hospitality is and service are part of the trade…

After reading some reviews we realised we were not the only ones…

We ended up leaving because the waiter made us feel so uncommon and unwelcome.

1 star. Would not recommend.

*A lot of times expensive prices reflect great service and menu. Clearly not in this...

Steak was full of fat, barely any of it edible. Tapas was greasy and inedible for the most part. Not worth a fraction of the money we paid. When we complained to the waiter, we were entirely ignored. A table next to us dropped a glass full of red wine on the floor which broke. A waiter started to clean it up by putting 2 napkins on the floor and rubbing it with his feet, then left it without any attention or by placing a warning sign around or on the spillage. Both customers and staff walked over it to get downstairs - highly dangerous and completely against health and safety protocol to leave it for the 30 minutes we remained in the restaurant. A mix of a wet floor and broken glass left without due attention. The bread was stale and had clearly been out on another table before it was served to us. I spoke to someone claiming to be the manager on the way out after we paid the bill. He didn't care. No apology for the food or the safety issue. This restaurant should be reported for its conduct and judging by other reviews, closed down for good.

Food is below average for the price , I ordered an American breakfast for 18 Euro and got a small omelette with two pieces of bread , orange juice and coffee. The issue i have isn’t that since small portions is the norm in Paris , the problem is the horrendous service attitude. I was drinking my coffee then found one small hair so i asked the waiter nicely to change it . He didn’t apologize or even try to a knowledgeable that . Instead he rambled few words in French and my french friend told me that it means that he said that i had drank half of it and that the chef is bold !! . I was very surprised with the answer and i told him politely that i dont want it replaced anymore and just want the check . Anyways The hair was from eyelashes and the waiter was very rude so I decided to leave and not drink any new one because i was certain with that level of cleanliness that it would be not safe . I do not recommend this place with this level of unbelievable bad customer service.

We are from India, our first visit to Paris & were looking for a nice traditional French place to relish at. We were walking down from the Catacombs, visited the nearby cemetery, strolled in the local market and then got lunch hungry. The menus at most places nearby appeared confusing as they were in other languages. Then we came across Cafe Odessa & we found the vibe very inviting. The server, Aqam, was a smiling delight who guided us through the menu & we went by his suggestions. We ordered the Sirloin steak, Escargot burgundy, Beer & a Capucino. We had never tasted Snails before, but these were simply amazing! They were even served in a special dish with little depressions & a tong! It was the perfect delicacy we were looking for. The Sirloin steak was also impressive. The decor of the place is lovely with vermillion coats on the outside seating. Superb experience at a French Restaurant.
