Atmosphere: this location was a bit drafty and dark; as in there was an outdoor breeze cruising through the interior bringing a chill with it-and sparse lighting of-course. However, we went for dinner and the place quickly filled up for dinner, and they were playing a really cool old-school hip hop playlist.
Food: we tried the return of the cowboy burger and it was really good. The patty was excellently cooked and juicy and succulent with a hearty beefy flavor. The homemade bbq sauce and choice of cheese matched perfectly. The smokey bacon was a bit of a let down wherever it was used, leaving a strange after taste that was slightly chemical. The bun was great. We also loved the onion rings that were crisply battered but not too greasy- this also applies to the abc fried chicken that was not too greasy therefore not too heavy. Their loaded fries were tasty as well being thin and covered with cheese, however again that bacon let it down. But i will say that the bacon isnt to my liking- my sister on the table with me loved it all so thay is likely my own tastes and preferences. Love the homemade bbq sauce though.
Service: staff was friendly and courteous despite being slightly short staffed. 3 people were running the bar, interior and exterior. They were very friendly despite being clearly stretched wide for work. Price point is affordable
Extra notes: i would order this on deliveroo rather than visiting the restaurant. Overall the food was good however service and atmosphere were a slight let down. Also when it came time to pay we were told cash is not a preferred payment method which should have been stated before we sat or placed on the website or the window or anywhere really. Being a tourist i often use cash and found this bizarre. I will stress staff was very...
Read moreI don’t usually leave reviews, but PNY Burger Gaîté has altered the trajectory of my life, and I need the world to know. I’m from Canada, and I’ve eaten a lot of burgers. I’ve had gourmet, homemade, fast food, you name it — but nothing, and I mean nothing, comes even remotely close to what I experienced at PNY Gaîté.
It’s been six months. Six months. And I’m still dreaming about that burger. The patty was perfectly seasoned, juicy beyond belief, and cooked to perfection. The bun? Soft but slightly crispy on the outside — like it was handcrafted by angels. The cheese melted into every corner like it was part of some divine architecture. And don’t even get me started on the sauce. I don’t know what they put in there, but it activated something in my brain I didn’t know existed.
I sat there in complete silence, just staring at this masterpiece. Every bite was spiritual. I’m convinced I saw my past lives. I looked across the table at my friends and could barely speak — we all just nodded in awe.
Since then, every burger I’ve eaten back home has just been a disappointment. I compare everything to that one perfect moment in Paris, and nothing lives up to it. I’ve literally pulled up photos of it mid-meal in Canada and sighed.
This isn’t just a burger. It’s a life event.
If you’re in Paris, do not skip this place. Go. Savor it. Let it ruin every other burger for you in the best way possible. PNY Gaîté, you have my heart. Thank you for giving me a taste of what heaven...
Read moreI’ll start with the staff. There was nothing particularly special about them; it’s just that they make you feel welcome—neither too much nor too little, which I appreciate. Overall, they seemed very friendly.
Now, about the burger. I want to begin with the patty. I ordered one of the newest items on the menu. You could call it a smashburger; it comes with two well-cooked patties and a caramelized onion sauce with a delicious flavor. It also has lettuce cut into an elegant triangular shape, and, of course, the signature sauce. I’d give this burger a nine out of ten.
Next, the bun. I found it very soft, with a nice, fresh flavor and a slight sweetness—just as it should be. I’d also give it a nine out of ten.
As for the fries, or “french fries” as they call them, the portion was quite small, and they seemed to have absorbed a lot of oil. They didn’t have any salt, but of course, I could add some myself. I’d give the fries a seven out of ten.
This place also offers a good selection of beers. As always, I enjoy pairing my burger with an IPA, and the options here were great.
In conclusion, I’d rate this place four and a half stars, but since Google doesn’t allow half-star ratings, I’ll give it four. It’s a great spot, and I’d definitely recommend...
