Sushi Gan — Restaurant in Paris

This is an added value establishment. We were yearning for some sushi and found Sushi Gan walking in the 2nd. We ordered a “boat” which included Miso soup, cabbage salad, rice, 8 pieces of sushi, a ton of fresh sashimi that melted in our mouths plus as a bonus we were given 6 sticks of cooked chicken, chicken wings and beef stuffed with cheese. All for 38Euro. I was very disappointed with my visit. The tuna served to us was dull and grey, clearly not fresh and nothing like the vibrant red or deep purple you’d expect from quality sushi. When eating raw fish, freshness is the absolute minimum standard, and this was far below it.

We returned our plates, but the fact that such fish was served at all raises serious concerns about the restaurant’s standards and food safety. Sushi should never make you question whether it’s safe to eat.

I cannot recommend this place to anyone who values quality or proper handling of raw fish, and price got ridiculous for that...

We ended up here after the restaurant we planned to go to originally, turned out to be closed. The menu doesn’t really have vegetarian options. However when I asked, they offered to make a vegetarian menu for me. A great meal was the result!

The staff spoke English very well, were super fast (our next course was served as soon as we finished the previous course) and our bill was lower than any of our other restaurant bills during our holiday in France (including all of our lunches). Incredible value for money. Highly...
