I recently made a reservation for my birthday celebration with a group of friends at this bar. Despite the initial promise, the experience turned out to be quite disappointing.
Upon calling the bar a week in advance to inform them of our early departure due to another activity, I was surprised to hear that they had no record of my booking. However, they assured me that the manager had the reservation in his office since it was made online. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and carried on with our plans.
When we arrived on the day of the celebration, things quickly went downhill. Our reservation was nowhere to be found, and it took considerable effort to find someone to address the issue. A waiter eventually instructed us to wait at the bar while they looked for a solution. After a considerable wait, we were directed to a small terrace with only two cramped tables instead of a more spacious arrangement I had booked for 12 people (I hoped).
As more guests arrived, it became evident that we wouldn't be able to fit everyone comfortably. With no adequate seating available, we ended up standing on the sidewalk, which was far from the celebratory atmosphere we had envisioned.
After waiting for a staggering 45 minutes, we reluctantly decided to leave as it seemed unlikely that the bar could find a suitable solution. Many other people were also waiting for tables, making the situation even more chaotic. They should have simply apologize and told us straightforward that they couldn't accomodate us all. We would have leave directly and have more time to find another place.
Adding to that, I ordered a margarita cocktail, which turned out to be disappointingly small and lacked flavor (I love margatiras).
Thankfully, our night was saved by a small restaurant nearby that was gracious enough to accommodate our entire party, salvaging my birthday celebration.
In conclusion, my experience at this bar was far from enjoyable. The lack of organization and the failure to honor my reservation significantly marred what should have been a special celebration. While I appreciate the effort made by the waiter, it simply wasn't enough to salvage the evening. I hope the bar can learn from this feedback and improve their reservation system and service to avoid similar disappointments for other patrons...
