Fink Stuebel — Restaurant in Strasbourg

So we had a reservation that a friend made for us at this place and wow such a nice little place. It looks like it was put into a old home and made this nice little restaurant. It has about 25 tables or so and it is tight in there but it is well worth seeing. Now when we walked in we were greeted by a gentleman behind the bar and we gave him our name and set us for a table of two. Now this place filled up. What we did not know is he was supposed to sit us for a table of 6 because our friends where also were going to be joining which we did not know. Now no big deal right? Well here it was crowded and the one guy took the time to make sure we were all at the right table. They had a good wine list with local wines from the area and the food was amazing. Sortez les bretelles, vous entrez dans un véritable resto alsacien.

Déco typique, bois sombre...mais une fois passé le stress possible du kitchissime mobilier alsacien on ouvre les yeux et on se retrouve dans une petite salle chaleureuse et baignée par des vitraux lumineux. L'ensemble mobilier et classique mais très bien tenu et entretenu. La taille de la salle permet d'éviter de se croire dans une usine à touriste.

L'accueil est très aimable sans exagération, professionnel et humain.

La carte reprend tous les classiques de la gastronomie alsacienne mais tout est sublimé par une remise à jour des artistes cuisiniers sans trahir la tradition. La présentation des plats est belle, le goût est là et les assaisonnements justes. La fraîcheurs des produits se sent bien jusqu'à la simple salade verte qui change complètement des feuilles vertes insipides des restos "usine". Un très bon point pour le pain servi qui est vraiment un très bon choix pour accompagner. Une carte courte et suffisante pour se faire plaisir en confiance sur la fraîcheur des produits.

Par une petite lucarne on entrevoit la cuisine qui est très bien tenue et jolie avec ses batteries cuivre, une fois de plus un bon gage de professionnalisme et de respect du client.

Un petit bémol pour le placement tarif des desserts qui me semble surestimé. C'est d'ailleurs vraiment dommage car le reste de la carte est très bien positionnée en prix.

Un dernier point faible mais totalement indépendant des responsables, la petite taille de la salle et des accès rend très difficile voir impossible l'accès aux personnes à mobilité réduite.

Excellent dinner! We had appetizers, main courses and dessert, plus wine! The best dish was the chicken and veal in puff pastry- a MUST order! We were unfamiliar with many of the dishes so the waitress was kind and explained them to us in English. Service was quick, helpful and kind. Easy walk from town and a great way to see a little more of the area. We had made reservations well in advance and they were able to accommodate a slight time change due to train scheduling, so we appreciated that.
