Was randomly passing through the area when my family and I wanted to have a little sit down lunch, as were tired from our walking adventures. Server eventually came by after we had settled in, got us some drinks first before coming back shortly after to our food order. We ordered what we wanted and they came within a reasonable time. Food was cooked wonderfully, seasoned well and came out piping hot (which I always appreciate!) Not sure why this place has such poor reviews but I beg to differ from my personal experience there today. (August 2022)

We came upon this spot whilst on a walking tour. When the tour finished we returned because it looked both beautiful and affordable. Whilst briefing the menu or neighbours' food arrived and it looked so good (Potato pancakes with smoked salmon) that I ordered it. Food: All the food (we also had La Tarte Fambée, Pork cheeks with pinot noir sauce, and large vegetable salad) was excellent and generous in quantity without being gluttonous. Service was also very attentive. On a hot day the staff changed our water jug did times without being asked.

Waiter rude to the English. Me and my girlfriend where pushed into a seat. Not explained the menu even when asking politely. Rushed service. French man very rude and grumpy. Had a pint and soft drink/ 2x flambé and had to ask for the card machine to pay twice.....when stood up after 20mins he put the details in and threw the card machine on the side as it was printing my receipt. The young waitress seen the shock of my face and rushed and gave my receipt and card back over but the damage was done.....will never go back. The same waiter was serving others without been rude. Only reason I can think of it is we were English. Attached a picture to avoid it! Hope this puts you off enough as the service is the WORST I have ever had and basically ruined our first night in Strasbourg. Plenty more restaurants to choose from which are far more appealing with 10 times...

First of all, both waiters working on June 7 2025, are young lads, really friendly and capable. My wife was cold so I asked for a blanket which they die not have, but they offered us to sit inside even though the interior was actually closed that night. Food quality ist good. Had 2 menus. Salad with duck for starters/Tarte flambee, both excellent. 'Eisbein with Sauerkraut ' as main as well as Turkey with mushrooms. First one good, second one not my taste. Dessert Crème Brulé superb. Overall worth the money. And forgot the stories about...
