Les Saveurs du Midi — Restaurant in Strasbourg

It looks a bit bland and the windows could do with a good clean plus some dead flies in the windowsill. But the food was delicious. We chose the cordon blue with spatzle. The cordon bleu was juicy with nice cheese and ham without it being to salty as it often is. The cream sauce was amazing as where the hand made spatzle. As dessert we chose the isle flotant and the kuchelhopf glace. Both were in good balance between sweet and not sweet. The Riesling that we had with it was both dry and fruity. My girlfriend ordered vegetarian Flammenkuchen (la tarte flambée) and was given a salmon one. The waitress ensured us it was vegetarian although there were no mushrooms which were supposed to be. Clearly, according to the menu there were no salmon. She removed the salmon from the Flammenkuchen but obviously it was impossible to remove the fish flavors. As my girlfriend is strictly vegetarian and doesn't stand neither meat nor fish the issue has spoiled completely...

This place is an oasis in Petite France, especially considering the ridiculously overpriced restaurants and bars around.

The man that I believe is the owner is super kind and attentive. This seems like a family establishment, and it showed with the food, and how cozy the place is.

The meatballs (Fleischkiechle) were delightful. The sliced sauteed potatos were one of the best I've ever had. And the tarte tatin was unreal.
