Restaurant to avoid at all costs
Easily the worst restaurant experience of my life, honestly, they must be paying a fortune for all the five star reviews they receive on Google.
The restaurant is filthy: the tableware and glasses were poorly washed AND there was hair crusted on the tablecloth, we really wondered how long ago our table had actually been properly wiped down.
The service was agonisingly slow, we waited one hour for two starters and another hour for the mains.
All that waiting and for what, you ask? The food was abysmal. This restaurant has no right to claim that serve authentic Italian food. The "Pizza mozzarella fiordilatte, lard de Colonnata, miel et noix" resembled a tiny, thin piece of cardboard lathered in honey, hardly a pizza. For the main we had the "Linguine langoustines et pistache". The sauce was far too salted, not a pistachio to be found on the plate and the pasta was over-cooked as if it had stayed at the bottom of the pan for the hour we had been waiting.
And really to top it all off, to punish you for deciding to stay out of politeness, the restaurant is extremely over-priced. The micro pizza that tasted like cardboard = €16, the overcooked pasta = €28. This place is a trap, avoid it...
Read morei don’t usually leave negative reviews, but my experience at Ristorante Italiano Da Pietro was unacceptable and needs to be shared.
During our visit, a staff member ( one of the cooks) yelled at a child under 12 years old in our group because he had a small hamburger with him (we didn’t notice when the child take the hamburger) While I completely understand that outside food may not be allowed, the way the situation was handled was entirely inappropriate.
Instead of calmly approaching us to explain the policy, the cook shouted at the child in front of everyone, which was not only rude but also completely unnecessary. It left the child feeling scared and embarrassed, and it ruined the mood for the entire Ristorante, everybody look at us wondering whats happened.
Good customer service means communicating with respect, especially when it involves a young guest. The staff could have simply addressed the situation with the adults at the table in a polite way, and we would have understood.
Overall, the food was good, but the treatment we received was enough to make sure we won’t return. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and trains their staff on how to handle situations with professionalism and...
Read moreOverall the worst restaurant experience I had in Strasbourg.
We had to wait over two hours for our main dishes. To make things worse four guests who entered the restaurant at least half an hour after we ordered got served before us.
Regarding the food, my risotto de poulpe et saffran didn't have any taste, nor did it have the characteristic golden orange colour of saffran. Other dishes we ordered, e.g. the pasta with pistachios lacked key ingredients: the pistachios, and the pastas were way overcooked and mushy - I can't imagine this to be authentic Italian. I finished my plate due to the hunger of waiting, but my friends preferred ordering a kebab instead of finishing their plates.
For the price to quality ratio it deserves less stars, but the waiting staff were trying their best to deal with clearly too many clients for them to handle.
Maybe the fish would've been better, but my recommendation is to avoid this little authentic Italian restaurant...
