In the past I was deterred from patronizing this venue given a proliferation of damning one-star reviews but I have to admit that the dishes we ordered ranged from delicious to very delicious. I particularly liked the eggplant in hot and sweet sauce, sczchuan pork, crispy chicken (in thin pastry with sesame seeds) and battered shrimps fried in a garlicky sauce. I neither tried the sweet sour pork nor tofu but others raved about those dishes. There was another dish with pork and shiitake mushrooms that was outstanding but cannot remember the name as this check I did not pick up so I do not have the itemization to refer to. My only criticism is that the hot oil is not spicy enough; I found it necessary to add chili flakes I brought with me but I appreciate that the staff cleaned and chopped all the fresh red and green chili I brought with me because I wanted to enhance the spiciness of the dishes. Almost all of the patrons are Georgian, with few Chinese (I just saw two Chinese diners), so some of the spiciness is toned-down. Overall, this was a great meal and I would advise that you ignore the one-star reviews that are posted about this venue. Our group was a mixed company of American, Burmese, Georgian, Norwegian and Serbian and everybody raved about and was highly satisfied with the food. The waiter who took the order was helpful in describing the particular foods contained in each dish; that facilitated ordering those entrees that appealed to my palate the most. For example, one dish (I believe Hunan pork) was described by him as containing spinach so I refrained from ordering that (not because I don't eat spinach but I did not relish the proposed...
Read moreI’m actually really saddened by this I’ve been going to this restaurant since i was a child, but this is the first time this has happened Service is ok, definitely what you’d expect from a restaurant in georgia Atmosphere is great, love the decorations and how cool it looks However, this time the food was awful, or at least the aftermath was awful because it actually tasted great I went with my friend on Friday, we reserved a spot at 6:30, and everything was fine, but then we both got really violent food poisoning the next day. At first i was wondering if it’s because i ate too much, but seeing her suffer the same fate as me made me realize it was the gumbao/gongbao or the rice we ate 😅 a refund would be nice because I’m still sick as i write this, and so is my friend, but I’m not sure how to ask for it, so for now I’ll just let this review serve as a warning It was probably contaminated or maybe we got a soiled batch There was also a hair in the rice Maybe just a bad day at the restaurant Please be more careful next time, you won’t lose me as a customer but it will take me some time until i can come again or...
Read moreDecent to good food - unacceptable staff policy
The food was totally fine and served quite quickly. Also smaller special requests (e.g. beef instead of pork) were handled professionally. After we were served a dish which we hadn't ordered - due to a simple misunderstanding that can happen in every restaurant, especially in a multi-language environment, the discussions with the staff started. The problem here was/is, that the waiters have to pay for dishes that are not accepted by the customer. Besides this being totally unacceptable in general (don't know their salary but they lose probably their income from several hours of work in such a case), this is also blackmailing the customers by letting them decide whether the dish has to be paid by themselves or the waiter privately. Stating that we find this not fair and small misunderstandings can always happen, we were told that we shouldn't worry and this was the common practice for all of their branches. During the whole process there was not a single "sorry" or any efforts to reduce our dissatisfaction....
