The hotel is right in the heart of the museums and Opera centre on Rustaveli Street with shops and cafes to the right and left and the underpass right in front.
It’s a big old building with a rustic entry, dodgy elevator/lift that rumbled and moaned when it worked at all, and rundown, dimly lit stairs to stumble up and down when it didn’t.
Once past that, you step into a time-warp of thick rugs on top of thick carpets (a struggle to roll suitcases on, and a tripping hazard) and upholstered chairs with the feeling of being in an eccentric collector’s house. It would be a fabulous setting for a murder mystery party.
The smile-less marm gives your key and never bothers you again. Not to take trash out, not to make up beds, nothing.
The room we got was the end unit with huge windows overlooking the opera house and a lofted area for the twin beds. The fixtures inside were newer with ample lighting and switches, except one lamp was missing the bulb.
Cleaning never happened in our four night stay, nor much in between stays from the grime on the floor and in every nook. Ants were in the main bedroom, and twice we had to take the empty toilet roll down the hall to get replacement full rolls. The one time marm knocked was to see if we needed more of the sandpaper-esque towels, which we didn’t as we’d only been there a day at that point.
The balcony was lovely esp with noise cancelling headphones for the very noisy road. Speaking of noise, there were clearly kids in the room above us and because it’s a different hotel on that floor, we could only ask politely for them to stop stomp dancing until 12am.
In summary, the place was a bit of a hoot. Great location with everything in walking distance. A...

Very peaceful place and it feels like home. I booked the room with balcony which is facing the main street of Rustaveli and facing Opera House. I enjoyed the breakfast too. Service is excellent and they are very prompt and I commend George to that for an extraordinary service and extending help in all of my needs during my stay. The housekeeping are checking and cleaning the room everyday. Location is very accessible. Just walking distance to old city, shopping malls and restaurants and other great spots around the city.||I can't give any negative comments about this hotel because they gave me a great room, excellent service, such a memorable experience during my stay. They have exceeded my...
