Indian Village Berlin central — Restaurant in Berlin

It is a nice place to dine with friends. Ambiance is nice with good aesthetics , neat and tidy. They have moderate price. Serving portion are good and food is also good. One can say it is real Indian. They serve two different styles, one adapted to the local people and one for indians. As server has said to indian people they make food desi style. I have no clue how much it differs from one another, taste wise. I have ordered vegetarian food for which i can say they have done justice. Chef and staff is open to take suggestions. Staff is friendly and service is fast. Only that they make seven different types of gravy which is good and shows that they are willing to create dishes in more authentic ways. I was also impress that chef is not taking any shortcuts and do prepare the food with right raw materials by his own. All in all i would sure recommend it and would also like to go again. Chef also know the balance of spices which is very hard sometime, specially with certain diahes where lots of spices used to prepare it. Indian cooking is all about balance and create harmony with all the spices used...

Sorry in advance, my review may seem rude, but then I just want to honest and I want Berlin to serve authentic Indian food, that is my only wish and effort. I am not sure why this restaurant has 4,8, on scrolling I realised most of them are from non-Indians.

My 2 cent, they do not serve the real Tandoori food. The chicken is not served properly cooked. The gravy do not meet the spice levels which authentic Indian food require. They are overpriced, I can let that go since its in the center of the city. The staff is not that great, some sentences are a bit off from them, which they could rephrase before saying it to their guests. The drinks are fake, in the summer, if fresh Strawberries cannot be added to a drink, then it is just laziness and sometimes a scam.

Sorry but you guy need to pivot and think about serving the real food, rather than meeting the foreign tastes. I am quite sure even they will appreciate if they are served the tastier and the real...

We visited the restaurant because we wanted to eat something spicy. We arrived around 4 pm with no reservation and the staff was very very nice and incredibly friendly. We were blown away when the food arrived. My daughter ordered chicken vindaloo, I ordered duck vindaloo and my son ordered chicken tandoori. We also ordered butter Naan and they were soooo nice and gave us 4 pcs of papadam as gift. I forgot to take picture of my vindaloo and managed to take picture only the tandoori’s chicken. My daughter and my son literally cleaned the whole serving bowl of their meal and licked every part of the meal and finished all rice that were given. I even had to remind them to have some dignity because they made me feel as I have never fed them. The food were amazing and delicious. Authentic Indian food with top service. We are hoping to be back one more time before we leave Berlin and head back...
